I'm a little peeved that no one else is at work today?

I work at a Connecticut State University as a webmaster and although classes were cancelled today I fully expected everyone to be at my AM meeting.

Nope.

Well fine, seeing as how classes are cancelled for snow removal surely everyone is at the office.

Nope.

So now it's me and a security guard in a three story building, am I wrong to be a little pissed that nobody else showed? Keeping in mind that we also had Friday and Monday off for the holiday, I would imagine that people would have work to do today. The worst part is i'm designing a site for a department I know NOTHING about, so I really kind of need those people here to get anything done. Ugh.

BTW, I actually wanted to go into work today. There are probably 100+ e-mails waiting for me and I'm tired of being stuck in the house for 4 days now.

Not a workaholic, but definitely someone with a strong work ethic.

I can understand why you're so ticked off, though. Perhaps since you came in on a snow day, you can take an extra vacation day. Is there anyone there with whom you can discuss this possibility?

Suck it up to experience. I have often traveled great distances and at a certain risk to myself to get to work during inclement weather and other circumstances and not even received a thank you for the effort. Just know that you did your part and don't worry about the others. You did a good thing and I, for one, appreciate your efforts.
