Note to Hollywood:
You're not quite "there" yet. Lay off the CGI and the wire-work. It doesn't look real.

That's all I have to say about that.

I'll admit that Gollum looked kinda cool...but definitely not REAL.

Yoda with the lightsaber?! Looked like a silly-ass cartoon to me. Very weightless and jittery. Ugh.

Are you seriously saying that in 5 years we won't look back on todays effects and laugh?! Sure we will.... because todays effects BLOW. It takes me right out of the movie when I see those crap-ass composite shots and cartoony CGI.

Woudl you rather them go back to green screen and a table to make ti look liek there flying or jumping?

cause that was increibly craptastic

or hwo about sjut turn the camera on the side liek on the old batman show

"Why are we walking like this?"

number 333 its the way to be

How very simplistic, but not really an argument.

It was craptastic then.... but it's worse now. Back in the old days, when a hero would lift a car (for example) they would use a real actor and a crane would lift the car. Remove the wires and....Viola! Real objects were being photographed. In the new preview for the Hulk BOTH he and the car (tank) are fake. It just doesn't look good.
Some of the scenes in Daredevil and Spiderman look about as real as Land Of The Lost.

Remember how the Star Wars movies ruled when everything was made out of "found objects" and Muppets? Then remember how truly sucktacular the first film that DIDN'T have all that was? Damn right. Sme goes for the LOTR films...it usally feels like I'm watching a very pretty painting come to life...but a painting nonetheless.

I think the pinnacle of special effects can be attributed to two groundbreaking, innovative films; one from the 80's, one from the 90's. And those two movies my friends:

.........are Flash Gordon and Cabin Boy. Thank you.
