At LaGuardia Airport, February 19, 2003, I had to wait an hour before boarding my flight to Chicago O'Hara. Looking at a Crossword Puzzle I sat as far away from the gate, hoping no one will sit next to me. Maybe ten minutes after I parked myself comfortably, an individual perched on the same bench. I paid the person no mind until a women's voice vibrated my ear drums. I wanted to look over but the previous 8 or 9 flights it was a rotund or Stalker Patty look alike, so I did not bother. The female was having a cerebral conversation because every sentence that was omitted a colossal word was being used; which to my chagrin, I new only half. Eventually I yielded and took a gander. She was a beautiful, tall, brunette Caucasian with an incredible body using a cell phone. The call ended once we boarded the plane. I figured my opportunity to talk to her was gone.
As I ambled through the aisle looking for my seat, I noticed where she sat. Getting closer and closer I looked above and saw 7C. To my surprise, I would be sitting next to her.
Long story short. for two hours I still did not speak to her because I was ashamed of my accent. Also, did not want to sound stupid and embarrass myself. I felt she was to smart for me. Meanwhile, my hands were perspiring the entire time because I wanted to take a chance. I should've said something. Why was I ashamed? Never cared before.

Like this post. some of it does not make sense. but don't give a shit.

From your description she sounds like a beautiful intelligent woman. A lot of guys are threatened by women like this, thinking, as you did that they are "not good enough" for her.

In your case it went a little further than this. You were fearful, self conscious and sweating. You may have had a very mild anxiety attack.

Although you cannot do anything about this particular woman, I'd like you to consider this: She's an intelligent woman. She can make her own choices and express her likes and dislikes. By not approaching her when you wanted to, you in effect, took away her ability to choose whether or not to talk to you. In other words you diminished her intellectual capacity for self determination.

Sometimes a woman can intimidate a guy. Sometiimes a guy can intimidate a woman. Try to move past the intimidation and make actual contact. Talk to her and let her choose if she wants to continue talking. Everyone has an accent (we just don't hear it among people who grew up in the same area we did).

Worse case scenerio, you say hi, she smiles and says don't talk to me.

More realistic scenerio: you spend the plane ride talking instead of feeling bad.

I wouldnt worry about it. For millions of years Life on this planet has been controlled by the "survival of the fittest" theory. Simply stated, the weak, inferior, pathtic get eliminated out of the gene pool to preserve the quality of our species.
Nothing you described contradicts this theory. She will most likely sit on the next flight with someone confident, who WILL speak to her and off they will go to create a generation of smart, Gorgeous offspring.

I should have phrased it as "the most likely worst case scenerio."
