I just got home after viewing Leonardo's exhibit with a chicada at the Met (highly recommend it)... anywho, I turn on the 'FAN and am listening to Sid Rosenberg's (formerly of Sports Guy's Menudo fame) sports show.

A caller named Iris from Brooklyn calls in at around 2:51 PM. Horrible impression of the real Iris but 'she' asked Sid who is the better quarterback, Chad Bennington or Ron Bennington?

Sid starts laughing hysterically and says, "You kiddin' me, Ronny is." Then he went onto explain he loved working with Ron and Fez and OnA on WNEW but now it is all music and was wondering out loud where are they now? He responds himself saying they are in DC now and that they are now with "the worst radio show in history, Don and Mike."

Very funny segment. Sid is still one of my favorite guys on the radio. Gotta love the love he still has for the boys.

I bet it was a member from the board that did it. Not as good as Heck's call-in with the Schmoozer but nice job.

It's Stage Two of Mission-RonandFezComeback aka Operation RnF Re-Infiltration of NYC (stage one was me and my chick wearing sparkling Ron & Fez shirts on Letterman and getting on camera; which was accomplished for two seconds). "Bad Iris", as I refer to her, will be calling up political stations next to suggest Senator Fez Whatley of Florida for the race of '04. Yes, I realize that these little pranks won't do anything but shit, at least we can fuck with these silly radio people.

East Side Dave, I thought it was your "Bad Iris" on Michael Kaye's Show on 1050 ESPN Radio.

I was in the library listening to my daily doze of sports-talk now that RNF are no longer on the New York airwaves, and at approximately 12:20PM, Michael Kaye says, the next caller is "Iris." I was bracing myself and of course, same bad Iris imitation. I was like.. no f'n way.

Here is my synopsis of Dave's call:

Backdrop, the segment was about the Mets and Michael Kaye wanted some real, hardcore evidence from die-hard Met fans why the Mets are better this year than last year.

"Bad Iris" said that she thinks they are better because, for one they have Art Howe. And secondly, they have "Ron Bennington and Fez Whatley!"

Michael Kaye: Who are they?

Bad Iris: They are in the minors, single A, great minor league prospects Pitcher and catcher... Ron Bennington is a smoking pitcher and...

Michael Kaye: I never heard of them. But if you think minor leaguers are going to be the difference with the Mets this year, you are crazy... *pause* Let me check who these guys are eventhough there will probably be no need.

Commercial Break

Michael Kaye: As I thought... they weren't real ballplayers... Those must be "two of his friends on the radio." "This moron was on hold for 43 minutes", that what it says here...

Gordon Daimer (or Joey Salvia): This is what happens when you don't have a job.

Michael Kay: He won't be on this program again...

As a Yankees fan, the only time I didn't like to hear him (on the radio...he's 100% awful on TV) was during rain delays when he & Sterling would do their mini talk show. Kay is so fast to throttle a caller he doesn't agree with. And, who is he kidding, you could get back on his show tomorrow if you wanted to...of course you would be hung up on as soon as you went into the voice, but if you had a woman with a sexy voice call for you, you would not be cut off just for saying your name was Iris.
