Big Site News... Very Important!

Hey all, after my mental breakdown on saturday gvac made an extremely valid point. There were simply too many forums. So I talked with some different moderators and got rid of the forums that were being left behind. This is not a personal attack on anyone but simply a way to streamline the site. The forums that have been dumped are as follows:

RF Babies - Simply no one was posting and the Babies no longer call the show.
Music
Movies
Jokes

Hopefully this will encourage people to post more. Have Fun!

Dude, bring back Movies. Movies forum was a great idea, and didn't drag in the least. It's a topic that will never stop spawning new discussions.

The problem with the lack of positng is lack of new topics in the General Discussion, because Ron and Fez, by no fault of their own, haven't given us any general discussion topics.

I just wanted everyone to be
clear as to what I posted so
you don't all think I was
calling for your favorite
forum to be eliminated.

Basically Carter posted that
no one was putting up any new
and interesting threads in the
General Discussion forum. I
said that perhaps with the
addition of 2 new forums in
the past few weeks (Steel Cage
and R & F Feedback), the board
was getting specialized to the
point where fewer and fewer
topics fell under the umbrella
of "general." I was in no way
calling for the deletion of
any forum, but I can see how
it would make sense to do so.

That being said, I think an
"Entertainment" section could
be great. It could encompass
everything from current
movies, TV shows, and music,
to local clubs and bands you
may have discovered, to
stand-up comedy acts you've
seen, to comic books, to video
games, etc. The list goes on
and on, but you get the point.

Hope I've set the record
straight and I hope the
current deletions don't stop
ANYONE from posting. Thanks.

Of course we love the Sunndoggy is gay thread, but that's in Sunny's forum.

I agree an Entertainment section is a good idea, but I also agree with Carter that there were a bit too many forums. After checking the threads in 5 or 6 forums, I didn't have time for the rest. However, not everyone is as sad as me and posts in every forum.

An Entertainment Forum is a happy medium for everyone, seeing as it's just one forum, and it combines Music, Movies, Wrestling, Sports, etc.

At the end of the day, this is Carter's messageboard, so any decision he makes is his and his alone. So go at this in a civilized manner, folks, otherwise nothing's getting done (I know where he lives. The meeting is behind the bank at 9, bring your own weapons.)

I've just fallen head over heels for Baby Anna :) A site without babies, is a life not worth living..its strange how quickly people forget those who helped build them up...Babies are "old school" (relatively speaking in terms of R&F on WNEW), to disassociate yourselves from them is uncool. I don't see the harm in having a babies section, if you feel people aren't posting there, well then that's your loss...I considered the babies section a "niche" where certain people could go and discuss which babies were hot, and which weren't..and when it comes down to it, is there any better conversational piece comparing Anna to Nicole or Clare to Tiff? Hmm, i think not...Babies rule and deserve a section dedicated to there loveliness :) Bring back the babies, and bring back the love...Peace in the Middle Ease, I'm Out...::drops mic, ala Sexual chocolate::

As I said the forum deletions werent meant to hurt people it was just a way to streamline the site. I didnt say anyone wasnt important nor did i say that i was an almighty being. I did this so more people could see more posts. Frankly, if the people wanted a babies section, they would've posted in that forum more often.

Anna, I like you and I definitely had you pegged wrong when I first came here, for which I apologize.

However, that reaction was kind of harsh toward Carter. I post here a lot (obviously) and one thing I have noticed is that the Babies' forum has been relatively dead for the past month or so, probably even longer.

Carter's just making an effort to make the board better. I disagree with some of the deletions, but as I've said, it's his board. The way to change things is through suggestion, not through attacking him.

I don't want to see you leave, and I'm sure a lot of other people don't, either. So let's all hug and make up. And if not, let's stab a hobo to death and laugh.

The babies forum was getting an average two posts a week, at least half being "X is hot." The primary concept of the messageboard is to facilitate communication and the exchange of ideas. If a forum does not live up the expectations prior to its creation, then the extermination of said forum is well within the rights of management.

Alternatively, it is a point of contention for discussion about the creation and deletion of said forums within the forum of "General Discussion," whose existance is primarily for discussion of board and show related topics only.

If at any time a forum is not within existance, then the proper forum is Off-Topic. (i.e., movies, games, etc.) The exception being if it is meant as a rememberance or a "retro" reference, then it belongs in "old-school."

Could I please have my own forum? People could ask me such things as "how I eat without hands." Or we could talk about what I want to talk about. Yard work, date rape, skeet shooting and ice fishing. Also I could give people advice like "put that down!" or "Don't drink that." or "That's not a good item to use rectally." I could tell people about my childhood and how I wasn't melested when I was a child but I did stick a rake up my aunts vagina after a few too many pixie sticks. I could discribe my smell and the taste of my rotting cheese like flesh. I could let the Ron and Fez community know about which toe on my left foot is my favorite and what I like to do on Saturday nights home alone with index cards and a hand full of woodscrews. I think this is what the people want. Or at least the Goblins and halflings want. And if their votes don't count then I want no part of this discriminating board. I remember a time when a giant or a simple wood elf's vote mattered. When a skeleton warrior could order a reuben sandwich at the deli without being called a fleshless freak. When chimeras were not feared but considered God's wonder. Now look at it. I wouldn't be suprised that I wake up tomorrow and bugbears are forced to sit at the back of a bus and baby ogres are forced to go to seperate schools. Thank you for your basil.

i can't speak for the other babies, but the only reason I got slightly ticked when the babies forum was deleted was because it was sudden, and no one was asked thier opinion. Carter, I respect the fact that this is YOUR message board. I understand that you and the mods made this decision, but since it was such a big decision, it would have been nice to invlove everyone. If it turns into a big deal, I'll just post a mini baby board on rfbabies. Please just take our feelings into consideration too. I know Anna and I have been here since this board started.

The plain fact is, until a
forum gets to the point
where there are enough
new topics that active ones
move to the second page
after only a couple days, we
aren't gonna expand.

Carter expanded the board
in the first place to try to
accomodate people's
requests, but some weren't
working out.

As for the babies section,
everyone knows I
personally have quite an
affection for the babies, so I
can't imagine that any of
them would seriously think I
would dump the section
because of anything
personal. When the board
was created, the Babies
were a large part of the
show. They aren't anymore.
I understand there are very
legitimate reasons, but
that's the way it is.

So, if you are upset a forum
is deleted and want to post
a topic, do so in GD or
OT...anyone on Dial-Up has
to agree the new site is
much quicker to navigate
and will allow more
replying.

Ok...Anna..i love u girl...spoken beautifully as always....on me personally..I am so sorry i have a life now. I will admit back in the begining of the year i didn't but now..i work almost full time...i have to watch my brothers send them to camp pick them up take care of the house while my parents work. Study for my state board pharmacy test..I am busy!! I don't have time to sit in front of a radio and a computer and gush over ron and fez anymore. Don't get me wrong. I love them alot..i love the other babies...and this board. Carter honey i understand why u deleted it but how u phrashed your reasoning sounded really shitty. I heped u when u first wanted to make this site, Anna was there for you when u first started with the site...we were all were there when u and this board was nothing. Now that it's this successful you don't need us anymore?? I know i've stirred up my fair share of trouble before..and have had more influence on the board then i should have...like anna said..u deleted steel cage before because it caused baby war fare when we all hated each other but its back now and u get rid of us?? We were around before this board was..all of us were some of the original members but because we now have lives it's like we're not worthy enough to be on the message board. When the mods had this meeting the babies should have been brough in on this since it involved our forum.
