New Bill Mahr on HBO

Im watching this new Bill Mahr show on HBO and my memory is failing me..was he ALWAYS so liberal?
He attacked a congressman who is supportive of US going to war and his first 2 guests were big anti-war advocates and MAHR himself agreeing all the way.

Was Mahr always this midguided and pathetic? i thought he was considered cutting edge and funny?

He actually considers himself a conservative, though more of an O'Reilly-style "independent" conservative.

But no, he was NEVER funny.

Actually, I've heard him say many times that he thinks of himself as a libertarian.

However he labels himself, I'm glad he's back on t.v. I don't know how I feel about seeing the same three people on almost every show though.

Liked both the Mahr and Miller shows of old, yet hate when Mahr disagrees and never lets the other view be heard well. This anti-war shit of his is strange as he ended his old show very pro-war in all ways. I may not always agree, but it can be funny with great debating. You also get to see just how stupid the people of the entertainment industry and our government are via the guests.

I agree with Spoon people of the entertainment would are idiots, I saw Vivian Fox on Mahr's show before and she was such a f'ing moron, Stalker Patty has more common sense then her. Overall Bill Mahr is boring and doesn't let his guest make a point if they don't agree with him.

I can't stand the commercials for this show...how portrays himself as the man who's going to save us all...get over yourself Bill....you were only cancelled on network television because you had no ratings...

At one time, I thought Politically Incorrect was an amusing show, but some point after it made the jump from Comedy Central to ABC, Bill Maher became incredibly bitter and angry, or so it seemed. Instead of having a show that allowed others to voice their unique perspectives on various topics, Bill would bring up a topic / news article, give his views on it, and them promptly verbally abuse anyone and everyone who didn't think EXACTLY like he did about it. Including his guests.

Neither can I. I was watching the "Strangers With Candy" marathon, and caught a commercial for it. Glad to see it's coming back. Here's hoping Norton will appear often.

That's great news on Quinn's show, thanks for the update. As for this:

Let's be honest, we as viewers know by now that most of the truly "good" shows never get good ratings. Not that I'm defending Mahr here, but look at some classics that were canned due to "no ratings".

I watched the show last night.
Although i found it entertaining(i find any uncensored political talkshow entertaining), It didnt seem to go anywhere.
This show has no legs.
Take 'Politically Incorrect', remove the debating side, and replace it with likeminded friends he drugs up with in the Hamptons.
