I tried those weight gain shakes years ago. I didn't gain a pound.

I have found, much to my chagrin, that a long term regimen of pizza and beer works all too well in these matters.

I asked a chick I dated a while back to try them back in the days when I was in a chubby chasing phase so we could go into "Fat and Gaining" chat rooms, but she preferred Haagen Dazs and Pork Rinds.

they are high protein/ very high carb shakes. If you work out enough while drinking them, you will put on muscle. If not, you will put on fat. Its that simple.

Many of those products are loaded with sugar. Be sure you check that out and stay away from them. I'd recommend a high-quality protein powder, mixed in a blender with fresh fruit, fruit juice or milk, ice, and maybe a little raw honey for taste. Optional add-ons are yogurt or ice cream. Makes a nice smoothie that's pretty healthy.

Progressive, brief, intense, strictly performed weight training is what will insure that the weight you gain is quality weight. All the supplements in the world can't do that for you. You can lose fat and gain muscle at the same time, if you go about it right.

I don't know what your metabolisem is like or what look you are going for but there are lots of different meal plans out there. Your can do a lot with just eating the correct foods and doing the correct work out.

Rarely do you see a question about people (w/o eating disorders) needed supplements to gain weight. Eat at McDonalds every day for a year, and don't skimp on the frosty's and you'll be there in no time.

You may wish to consider a strict diet of green Hostess Snowballs in honor of St. Patrick's Day.
