This Day in History

Today is a day that shall live in infamy. As the day approaches dusk, we shall observe 2 moments of silence tonight, as it is the anniversary of a New York tragedy. Tonight, at 7:04 pm, the normal opening time for the duo Ron and Fez, we, the fans, will observe a one-minute silence, to overlook all that has occurred exactly one month ago. As we go through our sad night, we will again observe another moment of silence at 11:26 pm, the time that ending song was played and the "SEEYUHS" were said.
As we look back on the week of January 26th, we think of sadness and hate. We now have only partially recovered, and our efforts must be heightened. A new month is approaching, and we will still remember our good friends Ron Bennington and Fez Watley from the good times they had at WNEW in New York

And those of us that are fans here love 'em with all our hearts. By your logic, NYC didn't give two shits about R&F, but we all know because of this board that there are plenty of people very devoted to the show there.

Im gonna be a lil positive though and take your day in history and match it. This time three years ago NY got rid of Leykis for 2nd time, got rid of Mason and Kalinsky and started to REALLY build a talk station anchored around Opie and Anthony. One of these shows anchored around Opie and Anthony was RON and FEZ. And there used to be a minor celebrity that would appear on that show frequently and help to bolster its rating in the form of Anthony Cumia (Same Anthony from O and A for the more dimwitted). Ron and Fez were unique and in many ways I miss the time frame and the set up of the shows than I do what we have now (I loved 7-11, but any Ron and Fez in NY is better than none).

See I was a loyal O and A fan when I was in college (listened to em by accident in 1998 when they first started). And got totally hooked on em in 99 when I graduated college in 99 and had time on my hands. Anthony doing QVC guy killed me (Don West). And used to switch off WNEW at 6pm when Carol Miller came on, then they moved O and A 3-7, then when they went talk it went 2-7. And I used to catch it all...Long story short, when they dumped everyone else after the infamous FM-Talk@102.7 logo they brought in Ron and Fez and I remember Anthony telling listeners to give em a chance (Also told NY listeners to give Don and Mike a chance). And who did I hear on first Ron and Fez broadcast but Anthony. The show is money from there
