Ok, WNEW has turned to shit and we miss listening to Ron and Fez in NYC. I know, "why bother, we tried", "it's over, move on" and all of that stuff. NOT TRUE.
Sure, R&F are now part of the WJFK lineup but IF enough people continue calling and writing someone WILL notice. Maybe not now, but consider the not too distant future. Radio is a strange business and who knows what can happen in 6 months? A year? We are dealing with spineless corporate America here!
If we continue to tell Infinity that we want R&F it will only help them. Remember..FUTURE CONSIDERATIONS! So buddies, it's NOT over.
Opie and Anthony will return somewhere on the dial and if we "show the love" for R&F who knows?
So "keep on keepin' on". It can't hurt and you can vent. Let's hope for the best!

Perhaps a focused campaign with a specific target would be beneficial as opposed to "contact infinity." Calls and letters have more impact when directed to one person, especially if the person is supportive to the cause in the first place.

the way I understand it the one person who is
most responsible in Andy Schuan. That is the person to concentrate on. I got that from Karmazin`s secretary and Syke`s secretary. his direct number is 212-258-6097. Unfortunately, his secretary isn`t always receptive. If that is the case, call John Sykes at 212-258-6000. His secretary told me she gives messages pertaining to R&F to Schuan so that is another way to get him the message. I always call both.

Agreed. This should not involve WNEW, that's a clusterfuck waiting to happen. Sykes has already bombed with his Letterman on the radio idea. Give them time and they will mess up the new format. Just a gut feeling.
Infinity has stations everywhere, and who knows what will happen 6 months-1 year from now? Corporations like Infinity love "consumer loyalty", as well as sponsors do. Ratings be damned, WNEW was NEVER promoted properly and had no identity. Sadly, most people I know thought of WNEW as a rock station. That was managements fault. With promotion R&F could have done MUCH better and by us continuing we help them. We have to look at the "big picture" which is bringing them back into the NYC market in the not too distant future, hopefully in a desirable timeslot on a good station.
Who knows, maybe they leave Infinity and end up on another NYC station?
Anything is possible.

i know alot of people gave up but there is always hope. When R&F start pulling in the big rateing in DC they'll get noticed and if we keep asking infinty to put them on in NY they may listen, they may not but if we try it cant hurt the cause. dont give up there is absolutly nothing on the radio besides Howard in the morning and if you can stand Mad Dog's babling and bitching the Mike and Maddog on 660. And for those who remember alot of the sports guys are on 660 all day. Im not saying there good im just saying there the only choice for Talk duirring the day. All the music stations suk, there is nothing that can replace the gap Ron and Fez left.
