I just found out a friend of mine has it. I'm not sure how it works (cureable or not). From what I understand he went to the hospital on Thanksgiving because he thought he had the flu. That night they had him on a bed of ice to cool his body temp. They started chemo and it effected his heart and now he is on a resperator. Can anyone tell me what the f is going on with him?

Alkey you are a DICK! This person is asking a serious question about a serious matter and you have so little to do that you must make a joke of it?
Squrl... here's a link to the leukemia-lymphoma society. I'm sure they have all the resources and answers to the questions you wish answered.

Best wishes to your friend.

SQURL - I'm sorry your friend has luekemia.
I didn't check out that website, b/c it's not a direct link so this information may be there already. (I'll go back and edit the post to make the link easier to access)
Luekemia can be considered a cancer of the blood (an abnormally high white blood count) which is very serious but not a death sentence.
If caught early enough, (and treated) the survival rate is very high (I think about 75%).
If caught at a later more acute stage, the survival rate is considerably lower.
If memory serves, younger children with leukemia have a higher survival rate than adults, but I don't recall why this is so.

Seriously Alkey. We all like to have fun but EVEN I, King of the DICKS wouldn't make a joke of Leukemia.
The doctors thought I had it awhile back but were wrong. Good luck to you and your friend. I have no info. Looks like you got some though.
