I am listening to the Thurs 3/6 broadcast, and man does Ron hate the President. Mr.Bush just finished giving a speech talking about war, and Ron is hammering him. Ron is going on and on about the president being low-key, and his unchecked liberalism is getting on my nerves.
Sure its his show some of you will say, but I think with our guys and gals in the gulf maybe the President(Ron refers to him as Bush as all Sore-Lieberman fans do -dug up an old reference there huh) is a little concerned. Should the Prez smile?? I don't think it would be appropriate for the speech and context. I wish I could have called in because Ron's unchecked liberalism is starting to piss me off. It was fine when Fez would interject the other side of the argument, but that is just not happening. It reminds me of CNN or the Clinton News Network. Where is the humor? I am tired of war talk 24/7 can't we get a laugh? An impression? Politics is important, but this isn't F-ing C-span is it??

He hates Bush because its his opinion, its his show, and there's your radio knob: use it.

A bit defensive arent you. I love the show but I would like a little more of the bits. If you disagree thats fine too but don't tell me to change the dial thats just dumb.

DarkHippie

Then why are you complaining? he's not going to change his world view because you don't like it. I'd like to agree that there should be more comedy. but since Wnew crapped out, i have no idea what they sound like so I'm only inferring from the recaps. still, have faith in Ron: he never wanted a political show, but until he can base his show on the listeners again, he has to make do.

I see what you mean the show is really finding its way in the D.C. area. Considering it is the Capital, maybe politics is the major discussion point for the listeners.

Ron is going on and on about the president being low-key, and his unchecked liberalism is getting on my nerves.

Unchecked liberalism isn't the word for it, reality is, Bush was unusually low key that night and it seemed as if he was a beaten man, that was Ron's opinion and he expressed it. And who exactly should Ron's liberalism be checked by, the guy is a fucking talk radio DJ, not a member of the Bush cabinet, he can be as liberal or as conservative as he wants. I don't claim to be a part of either party, and in my opinion Ron is asking the types of questions that a lot of Americans are asking. Beyond that, if you don't like Ron and his "unchecked Liberalism" you have two choices:
A) Turn the station.
B) Call in and listen to him rip you and your silly CNN and Gore/Liberman hack lines apart.

Should the Prez smile?? I don't think it would be appropriate for the speech and context.

He doesn't have to smile to not look like an animated corpse out there, Powell seems to have no problem speaking with Charisma about difficult topics, neither did Clinton, Reagan or JFK for that matter. Speaking with resolve would not have been out of the question for that speech.

I wish I could have called in because Ron's unchecked liberalism is starting to piss me off. It was fine when Fez would interject the other side of the argument, but that is just not happening.
As a note to those who can't listen, Fez was agreeing with Ron about the President's lack of energy.

It reminds me of CNN or the Clinton News Network.
You should try Fox News, they would be right up your alley. Besides, no one found your Clinton News Network line humorous in the least, get new material..

Where is the humor? I am tired of war talk 24/7 can't we get a laugh? An impression? Politics is important, but this isn't F-ing C-span is it??
Ron and Fez run a talk show, they will interject humor where it is appropriate, and if the discussion is about politics so be it, I actually enjoy listening to Ron and Fez talk politics because they do give it a humorous slant. You should realize that you are not the president and really need to stop getting offended because a radio show host has a differing opinion from yours.

I think he probably just made fun of him because it's a comedy show too.

I always picked up on a little Liberalism in our Buddays opinions, but I got past it.

If there was a Liberal Democrat in the White House right now (shudder) they'd probably make fun of him too.

I've heard them have a lot of fun at Clinton's expense in the past, like all good people have.

I happen to agree with you Bigden but this is not the forum to bring this subject up. Most people here will not go against the grain if their nut sack depended on it. I tend to look the other way because it is a comedy show and like most topics R & F exaggerate to the extreme.

Funny....a listener with 14 posts hooking up a "Super Poster" with the show. Good job Bigden.

Like Moe said, Clinton was fair game when he was in office...and EVERYBODY made fun of him (And usually rightfully so), even by most of those "liberal" entertainers...so why wouldn't someone as easily mockable as Bush not get the same?

<font color=purple>Everybody hates bush. It's unsightly and gets stuck in your teeth.

The show talks about whatever's current. And on people's minds. We're on the brink of war, how can they not talk about this? It's not like they're devoting entire shows to it.

As for Ron's politics, is he not entitled to his opinion? 98% of the talk radio airwaves in conservative based, just flip to them for a break or two.

I don't think a smiley makes that one better.

Bigden, you're certainly entitled to your opinion and I respect that.

First off, Ron doesn't necessarily hate Bush just because he thinks that going to war in Iraq is not a good idea. I don't want us in Iraq either and I like Bush. I watched the speech in question and what I saw was a man who is struggling with very serious decisions. This was very obvious when he was talking about people praying for him as he weighed these issues. The subject matter of the speech did not lend itself to a rotary club speechmakers attitude. That's why there was no smiling. Do you want the President smiling while he is talking about sending your son to war as though that meant nothing ? The speech needed gravitas, and he gave it. Unfortunately, his face does not lend itself to it and the result was a very sedated looking delivery.
Secondly, you didn't hear much from Fez in the way of disagreement because basically Ron was saying that the President is wrong to go to Iraq and Fez agrees. What more needed to said?
Third, this is a very scary time for anyone who realizes the importance of events in the Middle East and has given real thought to what war with Iraq can mean in our everyday lives. I think that Ron is right to open the forum to our thoughts on this in the hopes that someone in Washington hears and takes into account the feelings and wishes of people like you and me.
Last, I have noticed (via MP3) that lately shows have taken a more political flavor. Partly I think it is for the reasons I have stated above and also because the DC listener has not caught on to what kind of show the buddayz put on. That will come with time.
And always remember that as Americans he can disagree with President Bush every bit as much and more as you are allowed to agree with him.

Bigden, what would you say to Republican icon Teddy Roosevelt? Here's a quote from 1918:
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the president or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public".

" and they ask me why I drink"

This is a forum to discuss whats on the air and to give your opinion. That goes for conservatives too. I love Ronny but he is sometimes very liberal. It is his show and he has a right to be liberal and it is our right to disagree. Just like we are allowed to use this forum to express displeasure with format. I happen to like the political segments even if I often disagree with Ronny but other board members are allowed to feel they are excessive. There was a thread the other day that people thought the S&M segments were excessive. Those people weren`t torn apart.
Oh, and CNN is a liberal piece of shit and if you don`t know that ,you don`t know what you are talking about.
