Tonight Ron made mention of the passing of sweet Melissas father, yesterday, and asked someone to post it, -- so here it is. Our thoughts go out to Melissa and her family. This poem was handed to me when my father passed, hope it helps in some way (i forget who wrote it): when i must leave you for a little while, please do not grieve or shed wild tears/And hug your sorrow to you through the years./ But start out bravely with a smile,/ and for my sake and in my name,/ live on and do all things the same./ Feed not your loneliness on empty days,/but fill each waking hour in useful ways./ Reach out your hand in comfor and in cheer,/ and i in turn will comfort you and hold you near./ And never, never be afraid to die/ for I am waiting for you in the sky. I don't know you at all, but I have felt your gentle spirit
through Perry, through Ron and Fez, and through all
the people on this board. You are the one person I
would say is universally loved around here. You have
many people you can turn to. But even though you
don't know me, I will tell you what I feel, and hope it
helps you in some way.

As a parent, your father had the special spark in him,
the motivation to create more life. He meant for the life
he created to be lived, with as much gusto as he lived
his own life. You are one of his creations, one of the
reasons he lived for. Do not disappoint him. Do him
justice by not just living, but living well. Feel your
passion, follow your bliss, relish and revel in everything.

I know it's hard for people to lose a loved one. We
tend to dwell on things, analyze them, and forget to
enjoy anything. It's hard for us not to let the bad
overshadow the good. But the people who made us
want, or wanted, us to be happy. We honor them
when we are.

The sorrow will always be there, but its sharpness will
fade. Your happy memories will overtake the pain, and
you will be able to smile instead of just cry when you
think of him.

Grief is a process, a process with a purpose. It hurts
but it does eventually get you to the other side. I
