Kinda makes you think when the #1 rapper is white and the #1 golfer is black

Boy, if this was known from the beginning, they really made the internet marks look like fools. Myself included. Hats's off to Angle for deciding to go through with the match. I just hope that they are not going to just go through the motions. If Angle is unable to have anything more than a 3 star match, he should not do it. It is not fair to his legacy nor is it fair to his fans.

See the main thing that scares me about this decision is, did Kurt get the okay from a doctor stating that it was okay to go one more match? Or did Vince demand he lose the strap of PPV? This could further damage Kurt's neck and spine if the doctor told him no more matches as first reported.

It was ANgle's decision as he wants to wrestle in one of the 3 main events at Wrestlemania. According to reports, he can do one more match before surgery and 3 weeks rest will help him feel better for the match. With Kurt not being at full capacity, no way is the last match now. That will definitly go to probably rock vs austin and probably booker vs HHH as well.

This apparently was a last minute decision made by Angle and only Angle. They had to completely redo the end of the Smackdown match. Kurt didn't want to lose out on his $350,000 WrestleMania payday. I would love to know what the plans were without Angle. I guess we'll never know now.

I thought that this was a very interesting piece from a Torch reader-

Dear Kurt,

I just heard that, against doctor's advice, you are planning to wrestle Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania this year. I beg you to reconsider.

I know your history. I know you went against doctor's advice before and won a gold medal in the Olympics. And I know you think your match with Lesnar could be a shining moment in your career. But please don't do it.

Put things in perspective. This isn't the Olympics. You're not fighting for Olympic or worldwide glory. You're wrestling in an event that's scripted - an event you'll be scripted to lose. There's not glory, no honor in wrestling at WrestleMania this year. Next year everything will be forgotten. Wrestling fans are fickle. You and Brock can tear down the house, put on a wrestling clinic like no other, and few people will remember in a month.

I know you're young. I know you think you'll get though your match all right. I know you think Brock will protect you. I know you're confident you'll protect yourself. But don't do it. Don't take that risk.

One wrong move, one slip up and you'll make history alright. History as a former Olympian who was paralyzed in a meaningless match in front of millions of people on pay-per-view.

Before you step into the ring in your condition, go talk to Droz. Ask Droz about life in a wheelchair. Ask Droz about the frustration of never being able to walk again. Ask Droz if it was worth it. Droz is paralyzed. He'll never walk again, let alone wrestle.

Kurt you can't account for the unknown. Hundreds of people walk out their front door every day thinking they'll walk back through that door that very night no worse for wear. Some never make it. They didn't plan on not making it, they just didn't.

You have a choice, Kurt. You can choose to avoid that risk. Think of your wife. Think of your baby. But most of all, think of Kurt Angle.

I've loved watching you perform over the years. I don't want to see you perform at WrestleMania this year. I want to see you perform at WrestleMania next year and for years to come.

He better be careful. I'm gonna miss that sonofabitch while he's out though...

Is anything worth being paralyzed of even death. You would think someone at WWE would try to talk him out of this, but then again this is the WWE

This is from twnpnews.com:

Kurt Angle acknowledged to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette today that he is aware he may face paralysis and in the worst case scenario, even death by fighting Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, despite needing neck surgery. He received clearance to fight in the match after being made aware of his limits for the fight.
Kurt also confirmed he has two bulging disks in his neck and will need more surgery to heal those after his upcoming surgery.

Angle would like to retain the title at WrestleMania to wrestle more, and also may retain just so that he can go out on top and retire as champion if he does indeed need to retire.

I found this on SLAM Sports with Kurts traner:

I am gonna cringe with every bump Angle takes in the WM match. He just may go down as one of the most dedicated and CRAZY wrestlrs I have ever seen perform. My hat off to him and his passion for the business. If only some ::cough::HHH::cough:: could learn from this.

Give me a fucking break. No matter how much you hate him for playing powerplays and nbanging the bosses daughter, he is one tough son of a bitch.

He wrestled about another 20 minutes with a crushed larynx with Shawn Michaels after RVD hit him in the throat and he finished a match with Jericho and Benoit and even got put in the Walls of Jericho with a torn quadricep. Call HHH anything you want, asshole, fuckface, but do not call him a pussy. That is why he is a somewhat shell of himself because he wrestles with so many injuries.

And yes I love Angle. I think he is stupid for risking himself but it is Wrestlemania. I see his point. I wish him the best of luck and he is one tough son of a bitch.

Teenweek, I did kind of screw that one up didn't I. I was more leaning towards the HHH glass ceiling thing which really has nothing to do with this and it was an unnecessary comment. I was however in favor of sayng that it just seems as if Angle is willing to go the extra mile to make the other guy look good and would do anything for the business in THAT respect.

I really did not mean to take away from how tough HHH is. I remember after he tore his leg up the other year and how I was praising him for pulling through it. I just hate to see one of my favorites for so long become the asshole that he spoke out against when he was in the process of being pushed.
