has anyone ever celebrated monthaversaries during the first year of a relationship? not for presents or anything, just something sweet and romantic like making dinner or going out on a date, or even something as simple as writing a poem....

"So fair, yet cold like a morning of pale Spring still clinging to Winter."

Maybe I'm not a romantic, but I never even think about how many months I've been with a girl until someone asks me "How long have you been going out with that girl". Seems a little too soon to use anniversaries to do something special. That kind of thing should be happening anyway.

i did back in high school. but only because most relationships i had then were lucky to make it a month. so it seemed like a real accomplishment. if it made it two months i was in love.

I did that with my very first girlfriend. I'd send her one rose for our first month, two for our second, etc. etc.

The only time I celebrated any anniversaries was after my divorce from my first wife!! I would always send her a card on that wonderful day!!

i think that's the kind of thing you do more when you're younger. as was mentioned previously, i can remember doing that in high school, when relationships only lasted a few months anyway. i dont do it now. the other day someone asked me when our anniversary is and i really didnt know what to say .

that would suck if u were together for like 10 years.

as for the question, i never celebrated too many anniversaries. i celebrated after some of the relationships were over though.

...why are you all looking at me like that?

Actually, it would be a miracle if I could keep a relationship for 10 years.

No, absolutely not.

Not even when I was younger.

I always thought that they were stupid.

Now, I try to do nice things for my sweeties "just because", like massages, cooking dinner or getting flowers because the impulse strikes me that day.

It's easier to do things like that on my terms, rather than feel like I'm bound by a certain amount of time, especially if I feel like I've known someone forever.

I did have a dozen roses sent to me after one month when I was married. It was really sweet.

Were you referring to me?

Just to break (gently) it to you, I'm a girl.

I buy men flowers. They don't expect it. Plus, it's fun!

Flowers given to guys are underrated. It's definately something that makes you feel uncomfy a bit, when delivered at work, but its also nice to know someone cares that much. I wouldn't expect her to send me a new Putter or some tie she bought. Flowers are a good 'at work' present for guys and girls...

Please don't hold my huge nutbag against me, or I'll hold it against you that you have flapjack tits...

I am glad this has been brought up, because I have a very strong opinion about things like this. Any guy who celebrates "monthaverseries" is asking for trouble and believe me I have experienced this first hand, both from ex-girlfriend's and friends who made the mistake of trying to be the good guy. Let me start by saying that being romantic is one thing but celebrating stupid holiday's and supposedly "special" day's isn't gonna do anything but cause you heartache and take money out of your wallet. Birthday's, Christmas, Yearly Anniversaries, and the occasional surprise is fine. But monthly gifts for staying together and that friggin' corprate holiday Valentine's Day are retarded, if you give women gifts or take them out to eat or something along those lines they will expect it all the time and that is not fair because a majority of the time it is the man who foot's the bill.

hammer, if you had read my post you would have seen that it is about romance and not gifts, as i do not ask my boyfriend to get me any, in fact i tell him not to....

My wife and I did the month anniversary thing for the first couple of months of dating. Not a big deal really. Back then I was stupid in love and remembered that stuff.

Now I have to put my wedding anniversary on my calander so I can remember it.
