Many of you may remember this little girl went missing back in June and the worst was feared for her. Today she was found alive today at a traffic stop within 20 miles of her home. I guess there is such thing is a happy ending.

I am so happy to see that she's alive and well. I don't have kids but I couldn't imagine the horror that the Smart family must've went through.

What I want to know is, why would this guy who abducted her dress like an arab in a time when everyone is looking extra closely at arabs. I wish they would fry the bastard.

According to Fox News the sentence for kidnapping someone under the age of 16 it life without parole. They may not fry the bastard but at least he is looking at major time.

The worst part aboot this whole story was that everyone brushed it off as she was dead and the killer died of a brain hemorage in jail. No one even tried to continue the search after the prime suspect died.

This is astonishing and a wonderful, highly unusual end to this most dreadful case.

Unfortunately, the longer it takes to find an abducted child the less the likelihood of finding them alive.

Most are raped and/or otherwise abused and killed w/in 6 hours.

Elizabeth Smart beat all the odds. Now she needs a ton of therapy, as will her parents and especially her sister, who reportedly told the cops about these transients months ago, but the cops didn't believe her.

i heard the Dad was pissed because the police ruled this guy out as a suspect...

time will tell how things turn out... hopefully she wasn't sexually abused, i would tend to believe she was.

Let's say she grows up and eventually commits suicide, then she was living a tormented existence.

And it's very easy to say ''Well, I would have run away from the creep'' but who knows what she was going through. She could have been brainwashed (the last story I heard was that she kept insisting to the police who caught up with her and the couple was that she was Augustine Mitchell), or it could have been something as simple as Mitchell telling her ''Now you better cooperate or else I will have you and your family killed.''

Whatever the circumstances, the only thing that matters in my eyes is that her family has their daughter back. I hope she will be able to recover, not only physically, but mentally and emotionally.
