Regular listeners know that the boys like to do what they call "the Ron and Fez Almanac" This is where callers call in and just state little known facts and then the boys do what they do best and comment on it...well there have to be a so many of these little known things that don't get on the air and so if you have any please give them up.

On a normal scalp there are about 100 to 150 thousand hair fibers.....i can't believe its that unprecise

Ok, I like it. Here are two to keep it going:

Flying from London to New York by Concord, due to the time zones crossed, you can arrive 2 hours before you leave.

And of course Only female mosquitoes bite.

I seem to recall that water is the only liquid that expands when frozen;
Also it is the only element that can be a gas, a solid and a liquid.
Another little known fact is that Ronald Reagan sold chemical weapons to Iraq
When one flies from Atlanta to Paris, the shortest route takes you up the east coast and doesn't begin to head across the Atlantic till you get to Newfoundland
Another little known fact is that artists oil paint somehow gains weight as it sets up and it may not completely set up for 80 or 90 years

Glass and wax are not actually solid. They are, in fact, extremely viscous, slow-moving liquids. That's why if you go to an old, old house the windows are much thinnner at the top than at the bottom.

incorrect. everything expands as you cool it, but water expands, then contracts when it freezes. which is why if you put ice cubes in a glass, fill the glass to the top, when the ice cubes melt it'll overflow, because the ice takes up more volume at slightly above freezing than at freezing.

and all elements can be gas, solid, and liquid, it's just a matter of at what pressure and heat...interestingly enough, every element can be a gas, a solid, and a liquid at the same time at a precise temperature and pressure...it's called the triple point.

It takes eight pounds of pressre to pull off a human ear. I don't even know why I know that, but ya know try it.

if a mod thinks it will go over okay then I would like to move it...if you think its gonna flounder then i'd rather save myself the embarrasment of another loser

that being said i'll submit this sticky fact to the almanac:

Glue dates back to prehistoric times. Artists once mixed colorings with raw eggs, dried blood, and plant juices to make sticky paints for cave murals. Later, ancient Egyptians and other people learned to make stronger glues by boiling animal bones and hides. Today companies make glues using synthetic substances.

1. I've never heard of the Ron and Fez almanac. I thought I was a regular listener. Oh well.

2. Incorrect. everything expands as you cool it, but water expands, then contracts when it freezes.

Sorry. Wrong. Most things contract when you cool them. That's why if a jar's lid is stuck you run it under hot water - the metal of th lid is a good conductor of heat and expands more quickly than glass, loosening the fit.

Water contracts (becomes more dense) as it cools, as well. However, when it reaches its freezing point, it suddenly expands (becomes less dense), so that the same amount of frozen H20 now takes up more space than the same amount of liquid H20.

which is why if you put ice cubes in a glass, fill the glass to the top, when the ice cubes melt it'll overflow, because the ice takes up more volume at slightly above freezing than at freezing.

Uhmmm... you do know that ice doesn't exist as ice at above freezing, right?

In fact, as long as your ice cubes are floating freely and not pushed and held below the surface of the water, your glass will NOT overflow. The volume of ice cube that is below the surface of the water (remember, they float because they're less dense than water - they 'expanded' when they froze) is exactly the volume of water that you will have when the ice cube melts (recall: when the ice cube melts and turns in to water, it takes up LESS space.)

Please don't pretend you know things that you don't, or at least go look them up in your middle school science book before you do, okay?

Too Cute makes learning the opposite of fun, Geez cut the kid some slack.
Dihydrogen Oxide (DHO) is colourless, odorless, tasteless, and kills uncounted thousands of people each year. Most of these deaths are caused by accidental inhalation of DHO, but the dangers of Dihydrogen Oxide do not end there.

Prolonged exposure to it's solid form causes severe tissue damage. Symptoms of DHO ingestion can include excessive sweating and urination, and possibly a bloated feeling, nausea, vomiting and body electrolyte imbalance.

Not only is DHO dangerous to humans it is also extremely hazardous to the environment. It is a major component of acid rain, it contributes to the greenhouse effect, and is a common cause of erosion of our natural landscape.

Worldwide contamination by DHO is reaching epidemic proportions. Quantities of the chemical have been found in almost every stream, lake and reservoir in The United States today. But the pollution is global, and the contaminant has even been found in the Antarctic. So far governments and environmental watchdogs have been indifferent to the problem.

Despite the danger DHO is widely used as an industrial solvent and coolant, in nuclear power stations, as a fire retardant, as an additive in certain junk foods and other food products, and in a wide variety of other uses. Companies routinely dump DHO into rivers and oceans, and nothing can be done to stop them because this practice is still legal.

The United States government (In fact no government) has refused to ban the production, distribution or use of this damaging chemical due to it's importance to the economic life of the nation'.

In fact the U.S. Navy and other military organizations are conducting experiments with DHO, and designing multi-billion-dollar devices to control and use it during warfare situations. Hundreds of military research facilities receive tons of it through a highly complicated
underground distribution network. Many store huge quantities for later use.
