They got twenty four hours to kill, and they burned their Looney Tunes supply in prime time ages ago. I think they show a good chunk of it on Saturday mornings, where it should be. They need new material, and Japan has plenty of good stuff that has been seen by relatively few people, and it's cheaper for CN than producing all enough originals to fill the entire schedule.

Personally, I can't wait until the out of the DBZ phase. The Japs have more than just action toons. I say they put Ranma« and Kimagure Orange Road on Monday nights as a double header. >:)

Nah, the Looney Tunes and all the other "classic shorts" (Hanna Barberra shit, Tom & Jerry, etc.) have all been moved (Outside of an hour here and there during the week on CN) to the sister network, "Boomerang", which shows only "classic" cartoons...from the shorts to "Superfriends" to "Scooby-Doo".

Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, etc. are shown during the day and late at night. The Japanese cartoons appeal to kids more these days, so they play those when they'll get the best ratings.

Have you guys noticed Contra doesn't post anymore?

the block of yu yu hakusho and then kenshin is heaven for me. now they just need to bring back Gundam Wing . . . Ranma 1/2 would be very cool too.

My apologies, I should have clarified. I was talking about prime time 8pm-11pm. Pair Powerpuff Girls with a chick-centric anime like Maisson Ikkoku. Except Fushigi Yugi, I think that would actually undo the girl power message of PPG. ;)

I'm surprised nobody brought up the Adult Swim stuff. I like the Sunday lineup the best. Brak, Ripping Friends, Sealab 2021, Aqua-teen Hunger Force. Really funny stuff.

I'm also hooked on the new version of Justice League on Saturday Nights.

Never really got into the Anime stuff, but I did love Battle Of The Planets (early 80's) and was horrified when they were reran on CN a few years back with overdubbed new voices and new title ("G-Force")!! :(
Apparently, the original dialogue wasn't "politically correct" enough.
Those who remember the cartoon may know what I'm talkin' about.
