Sorry, couldn't resist. But here's two stories about two egos running wild...

From Dave Meltzer at wrestlingobserver.com:

Some more details of what happened earlier today between Ric Flair and Eric Bischoff. We're not sure how the incident got started, but people could hear Flair, furious, yelling at Bischoff saying that he screwed with Arn Anderson, screwed him and screwed with everyone (in reference to their WCW days). A fight was started, and broken up quickly. Flair was said to be getting the better of it when it was broken up.

And from Dave Scherer at 1wrestling.com:

I have more information on the Ric Flair-Eric Bischoff confrontation which happened backstage at Raw today. As it turns out, there were actually two incidents between the men. Here's the scoop.

Earlier in the day, Bischoff was on the phone in his "TV office" when Flair reportedly came in loaded for bear. Flair began yelling at Bischoff, apparently for past indiscretions from back when Bischoff was Flair's boss in WCW and he rode Flair pretty hard and, in many people's opinion, didn't give Flair the respect professionally or financially that he deserved as the legend he was both in the business and in the company. I have not heard what set Flair off today after all this time.

In any event, the men faced off and punches were thrown before they were pulled apart. No damage was caused from what I was told but both men were pretty angry at that point and Flair left. Then later, while Flair was sitting in catering, Bischoff came in and asked if the two could talk about what had happened. This led to another very heated argument backstage where the men were both again separated by agents. One of the agents to do so was Arn Anderson, and that led to Anderson getting into it verbally with Bischoff as well. HHH came upon the scene and helped defuse the situation. Flair, Arn and Bischoff were all set to meet with the McMahons to discuss the incident. I haven't gotten any word what happened in the meeting, but Flair was said to still be unhappy as of a few minutes ago.

This is really strange. A lot of people know there's legitimate animosity between Flair and Bischoff dating back to the WCW days. But why would it lead to something NOW? There must have been something that happened recently that really got to Flair and brought back these old feelings.

Maybe a bad trip on Space Mountain?

Bischoff probably made a comment about Evolution and/or Triple H that Ric took personally. Or perhaps he questioned if Ric could still last in the ring.

Bisch now claims that there was no violent altercation:

Eric Bischoff says eyewitness reports on the internet detailing his altercations with Ric Flair backstage at yesterday's Raw are inaccurate.

''A grain of truth turns into a mountain of fact," he told The Phantom of the Get in the Ring radio show at today's WrestleMania press conference. "The people who write the internet have nothing better to do than create rumors and build on rumors. It's all b.s. Ric's a great guy and a great friend and a consummate professional.''

Internet B.S., or damage control?
