I can understand its significance in the Flintstones, but it just doesnt work in Scooby Doo as well.

My five year old got to pick the video for the family this week. "Scooby Doo meets Batman".
Mind nubingly awful. Tom Lykus awful. So awful
I was "sure" that this couldn't be from the original series. It was from 1973.

If you have any fond memories of the show, don't ever watch it again. As I said in another post, a big part of growing up is realizing that most of the Hanna Barbara cartoons suck.

One season of Scooby Doo was the "Scooby Doo Movies," where they would have guest stars like the Globetrotters, Phyllis Diller, etc. One of these was Batman and Robin.
I was never a big Scooby fan, can't stand it now, and it's even worse with Scrappy Doo.

I hated Scooby Doo. The episodes were xerox copies of each other to the point where the phrase "And i would've gotten a way with it too...if it weren't for you damn kids" became the victim of parody in film and television the world over. It's not remotely funny or entertaining. While we are on the subjects of shitty Hanna-Barberra cartoons, I would also like to nominate the Snorks, Yogi Bear, Space Ghost (not the Comedy Central incarnation), Josie and the Pussycats, Hong Kong Phooey, Magilla Gorilla....but of course excluding the Jetsons. What HB did to the Fantastic Four (and the SuperFriends) should be considered a crime. I'm sorry, don't end every fucking superhero cartoon show with the superheroes gathered around the comic releif laughing as he does something goofy. You're fucking superheroes...have some dignity.
Hanna Barberra Douchebags.
