I am looking for your list of all-time shitty comic relief sidekicks from film, television, animation and literature. Here are some of mine:

(Not in order):
1) Snarf from the Thundercats.
2) Scrappy Doo (and Scooby for that matter.)
3) That shitty Transformer that had that weird voice and spoke in riddles. It turned into a bike. I'd also like to add the human characters in Transformers who did nothing but get in the way of the Transformers requiring them to constantly save thier ass instead of focusing on thier mission.

Ok, arguement it is:

1) Screech. Besides the fact that he was never funny, his futile attempts to win Lisa's snatch were nothing short of pathetic. His high-pitched, squeaky voice sent chills down my spine. Personally I couldn't wait for his scenes to be over so we could get back to Jessie overdosing on caffeine pills.

2) Urkel. Ok, first time he broke something or fucked something up it was funny. Eventually his antics became a running joke on the show. What will he break next? Look, Mr. Winslow is annoyed by him yet still allows him into his home whenever he wants. Urkel got away with too much for the sake of a ha ha, which, unfortunately, were few and far between.

And Urkel was supposed to be a one-shot character. Seems there were a bunch of frat boys at the taping of the ep, who made a shitload of noise for him, and made the shows creators to consider making him a reoccurring character.

Jan, Jayce, & Blip from Space Ghost: You know, like the Wonder Twins, but we'll just give the same gadgets as Space Ghost because we're hung over.

Orko, from He-Man: Just what a testosterone fest needs, a cute thing with no purpose to keep the tykes entranced.

Godzooki: Hey look, it's a Lil' Godzilla, isn't he cute? Now we have something to get in trouble to move these lame as plots along.

Wendy, Marvin and Wonder Dog: Before The Wonder Twins showed up, the Superfriends had to bring along these... what, I don't know, I guess they were fucking interns. And completely mundane, so they got to double as hostages for the bad guys. It's amazing how far back Scooby Doo sent U.S. animation.

Wesley was never comic relief. Take that back. He might have been hokey, but he certainly wasn't the character the writers used to deliver some shitty joke or comedic set-up.

If anything, that douchebag Ensign Barkley played by Murdock from A-Team was the comic relief. That episode when he became in control of the computer and took over the ship was nothing short of embarassing.
