I tink a lot of people who are pro war may have voted for bush. But so so many people didnt vote, and others probably voted for someone else. They probably just feel that they should have or feel that if tehy voted fore gore or nader, then their opinion doesnt count. thats all pure speculation though.

My record on Bush and personal and political and legislative efforts against his programs have been already stated. Not many are as anti-Bush as I, but I don't think many are as hawkish as I.

The overwhelming majority of close friends and casual aquaintances and professional collegeus voted against Bush and are very pro-war.

I haven't liked Bush since he was using the death penalty in Texas like it was going out of style.

I voted for Nader and only vote Green Party nowadays. I'm sick of the same old bs from both major parties. Hopefully at some point in our lifetime we can have an alternative or 3rd party with influence. But for now, we got to help build it.

Also, I noticed someone mention the fact that all protesters to the war or anti-bush people have some agenda versus bush. Whatever just happened to disagreement with an action or policy? If Gore or Nader we're doing the same things or handling the invasion in the same ways Bush has, I'd protest against them too.

When voting day comes and goes, most americans vote for the official they like a little more then the other guy. The lesser of two evils so to speak. I don't live and die from any party nor any one leader.

I voted Nader.

But I wouldn't have voted for Gore if my life depended on it. I would have happily voted for McCain before him OR Bush.

<font color=purple>No, I didn't vote for Bush. Nor do I think he's been a very strong President.

I'm neither a Democrat nor a Republican. Not a Conservative or a Liberal.

I follow my heart and believe each issue should be judged on its own merit.

I've been for the liberation of Iraq since day one. And even if I'm not a fan of George Bush' presidency, he and our troops have my unwavering support when it cames to this war.

Perhaps there's a time for partisan politics, but now certainly isn't one of them.

i would agree...

Regardless of who is in the White House, it seems to me that whatever decision is made it affects cirtizens on all sides, Democrats Republicans, liberals, left wingers, chicken wingers, etc etc etc...

If there is a tax cut...
If they cut spending...
If they extend unemployment...
If they give less money toward enviornmental issues...

Everyone is affected by these decisions...

The reality is we got to a point where if the President is a Republican and he does something good for the Country, a good handful of Democrats will find fault somewhere and not give credit where credit is due...
AND VICE VERSA...

There's a shocker.

Gore or Bush couldn't have gotten my vote at gunpoint.

I voted for John McCain, but nobody cared. I don't know how I feel about that, but I do support Bush. I voted for Clinton both times and was embarassed by it. (at least the second time.) Al Gore would have been a pacifist appeaser like Clinton, and I shudder to think how he would have reacted to 9/11/01.

Keep voting for the green party. That's just as good as a vote for the Republican candidate. If I were you, I would vote Democrat nationally, and support Greens or Libertarians locally untill they gain some support.

If you don't vote for them...how would that equal them gaining support further down the road? It would be the opposite...they'd disappear.

It's pretty sad when you need to endorse a 3rd party vote to somehow justify your own party to win.

It's always funny how people accompany 3rd party voters in order to say, " they helped Bush win and Gore lose".....they didn't vote for Bush or Gore...so obviously it's not the case. I don't go around and blame Gore for Nader losing. It's retarded logic.

yes, but that's always been the nature of American two party politics. I'm a registered republican. And since i turned 18 i've voted for Perot 92, Perot 96, and Bush 00. And I heard this crap in 92 & 96 how I helped elect Clinton. Bullshit. If the republicans had put forth a better candidate, they wouldn't have to worry about losing votes to a third party. Same goes for the democrats in 2000. Hardliners from the two parties get pissed when people vote outside of the party.

I don't claim any veracity to this line of thinking but to clarify, the arguement is that voting for Nader was basically a "wasted" vote because the Green party did not recieve the required percentage for federal funding. It's thought that had these people voted for Gore they would have given him a big enough boost to win the election. Likewise, the vote was not a counterbalance to the republican vote. The supposed link between the Green party and Democratic party is in the left leaning nature of the parties.

That would make sense...only if every person that voted Green party...voted for Dem. instead. I can say for myself...I vote Green or nothing at all. So that theory doesn't apply to me or someone with my line of thinking towards voting.

true dat. I would've voted for Nader, but probably wouldn't have voted for Gore. It would've been Nader, McReynolds, or no one at all.

voted Nader

Was doing a European trip during the election and got interviewed by the French news. The asked me who I voted for, why Nader, and did I feel the vote was wasted. When I watched it that night, they had a French voiceover and the caption read
"Daniel ---------"
American/Political Radical

cracked me up.....
