Senario for the war:

Special forces are already in Iraq and have been for some time marking sites.

1st Knockout strategic command and control -to make them deaf and blind...no communication from or to saddam and /or his sons, no communication to or from command central, and eventually take out ability to strike against our aircraft
24 hour possible bombing campaign

2nd Movement from south and east from Kuait -the British, Marines and 3rd Infantry Divison will go straight up into Bahgdad, and from the North - 101st airborn from Turkish areas will take out startegic sites moving toward Bahgdad until they get to Bahgdad, circle it, and together destroy the regime.

---oh and by the way, we are offically aiming missles at Saddam and his sons.

Whether you're for or against this war, it all goes on the backburner when you think about the safety of these men and women and the hell their families are going through right now.

Not being a very religious person makes times like this a little harder to take.

But I can say that my thoughts and concerns are with the troops.....esp my friends in the navy....I do hope that the USA is ready for casualties....and the reality of what has now begun.

Granted....TV will be a lot more interesting .... but what will be the cost in the long term. We can only hope for the best at this point.

On a serious note, my heart goes out to our troops. May they kick some serious ass. I hope the surgical attacks take out Saddam et al and all their communications. It was eery to watch and hear those first strike.

I hope for a quick and safe return home for our courageous troops and a swift victory.

Anyone else find it disturbing that CNN is putting up graphics for each kind of missile or helicopter as if they were competing in a sporting event? The full 3D rotation and even the little chucnk of either the US or Iraqi flag in a little box. This just bothers me.

It is however good to know that kind of info but it just looks so "sporty".

seems like some kind of video game to me. i hate that. they must be showing off their Graphic Design department.
personally, i hate the Bloomberg news style "windows in windows" and ticker information that scrolls all over the place. it's all so confusing.
i'm loving the way the military is handling things thus far. i also like the fact that a number of democrats are backing the troops at this time. we need to be together as we go through this war. we can argue and converse over this when it is done.
by the way, does anyone else think Britt Hume looks like Death?

Just watching all this shit go down on TV is bugging me out.Alot of things are running through my head about this war. Hearing and watching those bombs explode in Baghdad is fucking eerie. At first I was very pro war. Now Im worried if we made a mistake here. I know we need to take Saddam out of power before he spreads more terror. The scarriest part of this war is that we havent even begun to put in 100%. I know alot of people thought we would be doing this "<b>SHOCK AND AWE"</b> in the begining. Now the Pentigon is saying that we will know when this <b>Shock and Awe</b> has begun. Personally Im afraid we will know this, after an attempted, or even a completed terror attack on the US. <p> tom Ridge made a statement that there was a small possibility that sleeper cells have been activated and they might be trying target certain places, like the largest Nuclear Power Plant in Arizona. I herd that there were specific threats made against that power plant.<p> Im not a very religous person but My prayers are with our troops over seas. May we as a country continue to stay strong.
