Wait, this is actually NEWS to anyone?

The one that got me was China "demanding that the attacks cease immediately" last night. Wha-?!?

For 75 years the world expected the U.S. to be the police force. Now most countries could care less what the U.S. says is wrong. France Germany, Russia screw them. America did it's "assigned" job. I hope this dissolves the U.N.. The U.K. had the right idea all those years ago with colonialism, we kick ass and give it back, they kept it.

I support George Bush(i voted for him) I support my country(I served it)I support my military keeping me safe

It's funny how many of the "haters" flock here and want to be here. I don't see many people leaving.
As for free speech, go for it, whether you are a Dixie Chick or Sean Penn, that's what this country is all about.

The odd thing is they will line up to sip the American D when they get themselves into any trouble. So F'em!
That needed to be restated.

One of the reasons people hate Americans is because of idiotic hippocritical statements like the ones you've just said. You claim to be "real Americans" supporting freedom but when someone exercises their freedom to speak their mind and you don't like what they say you tell them to "shut up" and insult them. That's real smart. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Check this one out...The French are a bunch of scumbags that are better served to Ethiopians as food than left breathing and spewing stupidity as they are now.
That being said, I'm a "real American." Did that comment make me a real American? No. My citizenship does, and my devotion to stand and serve my country does. Those things make you a real American. I can say whatever the hell I want otherwise.
I see you mouthing off a lot about this free speech "speech" of yours. Fine you can do it. Mouth off how we are insulting someone else, when we are closeminded, if we don't make sense, or whatever else you want...cause you know what? We can say whatever the hell we want...and in the end, we can choose to tune you out or reply.
So when you say we are being hungy hungy hippocritical...when you say we are being insulting...fine. We have every right to say what we want too. And we might just not give a crap what you or anyone else thinks. We have free speech to do it, and free minds to not care.
But going off with the "idiotic," sarcastic with the "real smart" and judgemental with the "You should be ashamed of yourself" is combative, ill said, and to be honest getting a little personal.
If you want to get a rise out of someone get one yourself from a NYC prostitute.
Start figuring out how to look at exaggerated humor mixed with the truth as being entertaining, funny, and at the same time honest. You don't have to be so damn serious with your stance, and so condemning with your views. Loosen up.

its like when you really disagree with your father about something, and going against him would hurt his feelings. and its not really a good time to upset the guy, cuz he's got a lot on his mind. his wallet's lighter these days, one of his friends who he's risked his life for on 2 occasions turns his back on him. an old enemy who's now his friend cuz he needs money also turns his back him. he feels a bit betrayed. especially since you side with those 2 ingrates.

maybe, just maybe, you should back the old man cuz he put food on the table and clothes on your back and sent you to school. he's given you everything you have, including that smart mouth. is that too much to ask?

Dotcommando--freedom of speech is one thing a preconcived notion of freedom from the ramifications of what you say is regoddamneddiculas. People are quick to judge a situation regarding war and world issues. If uniformed people chant unfounded slogans pro or con they help the cause of the other side. People who say this war is about oil, or "Daddy's revenge" are ignorant. I don't need two more buildings falling from my skyline to find out if Iraq and Al-Queda are linked. I am willing to trust my government with my safety and my childrens saftey. Wiping out global terrorism is going to involve countries that we have not yet thought of as enemies.
I hope the country can be united in supporting our troops and our leaders in this trying time. As an American we have The Bill of Rights to protect freedoms most people in the world can't grasp. We are also required to challenge or leaders to explain why the do what they do,and depending on what they say the puplic is expected to voice their opinion in numerous ways,i.e. voting, peaceful protest, and media.

To protest for peace and fight police there to protect you is assinene. I hope we can come to an end of fighting soon I don't want any undo casualites of a war. I do however want to even up the score and see some buildings come down with 3000+ iraqis in them maybe then we can start over.
This has been my Billatorium ---thank you

Most people don't have a good grasp of the first ammendment. It doesn't convey an absolute "right" to free speech. It just says that the government won't interfere. The caveat is that they damn well can and have the congressional authority, as determined by the USSC, under a variety of circumstances to actively suppress speech. This isn't new.

The other point that many don't understand is that the first ammendment does not apply to individuals. Only the govt can't suppress free speech (excpet when they can). Private individual and companies can do what they please, within the confines of law of course. That means that a publishing company for example, can refuse to allow a person to publish a book expressing their views on politics, history, racism etc.

EDIT: Regarding the "world." Fuck em. If they support a position that will end up in the death of millions of innocent Americans and others, we have to do what's right. Since when have we ever needed anyone's agreement to act in our best interests. All countries are ready to such on America's tit, but few appreciate it and many resent us for being in a position to help them.

If the underlying assumption is that because of these new "circumstances" he's now blameless and can do no wrong no matter what the issue is, and I just have to sit back and take it...yes.

I still have no clue what the "animal" statement meant.

Most people don't seem to have a grasp on most of the ammendments. People seem to forget that there's a LOT of fine print.

Well said HK. We need to take care of ourselves first and foremost, not be so concerned with others nations agendas. And if a few nations diplomatic feelings get hurt, too fucking bad.

well it's like listening to a person when they're saying sane things and then stop listening when they begin to speak crazy talk. And, plus since when does anyone owe anything to us currently. The French owe something to FDR and the soldiers who fought in WWII. During the Cold War Europe was used as a decoy for Russia's nukes, so Germany especially has a reason to not listen to us. And the US imposes themselves upon wars, theyre not really asked to join.
