I agree wholeheartedly. But the "Faux News Network" has such pretty graphics, and uses such dramatic adjectives.

Of course besides what you said about the major outlets being controlled by big business, a problem is a dramatic shift in the way journalism is being taught in college. The line has been blurred between Journalism and non-fiction. Now journalists believe that in addition to delivering the facts, they have to provide a
"context" for the average citizen to understand the facts presented. in other words: they present their opinion with the facts.

This is wrong. That is not journalism, that is Non-fiction, which could be defined as "the creative expression of personal views and experiences."

basically, the media is saying we are dumb. that we can't form our own opinions, so they pepper their reports with their own. I just flipped on fox news for a moment (as i said in a previous post I often do for comparison) nd they were right their doing it blantantly, reading a horribly slanted letter from a viewer as if it was fact.

Just give us the facts, mr. newsman, and let us think for ourselves

I watched the BBC news broadcast for a few minutes and after I woke up, I switched it. I will NOT turn on your Liberal radio station.

Really, the news stations are all kinda equal in this so far in my opinion. Not too many real pictures but a lot of speculation and reports from reporters with the troop.

Only your very first post here was to criticize the media for being too conservative. You're not making any sense here - you're defending your reading of the Village Voice, a biased publication, and admonishing another poster to read a variety of sources (I'm assuming by that you mean both left AND right leaning publications / sources), but at the same time, you're arguing about the conservative sources...

I don't know, you're being silly.

Look, just admit: you, and guys like DarkHippie, you like certain news sources that favor your ideology, and dislike sources that don't. What does that make you? EXACTLY LIKE THE REST OF US.

Most media sources either lean to the left, or are sympathetic to it. Fox News and a bunch of annoying conservative radio DJs like Rush or Sean Hannity don't make a vast conservative media bias. But right now, WHO FUCKING CARES.

I have a sneaking suspicion you're just feeling betrayed because normally left-wing (or quasi-left-wing) news outlets like MSNBC and CNN are reporting the war instead of expressing your raging distate of it.

I looked for news in other places and got sick of the Liberal Bias. So I don't go there as much for "the other side" because I disagree with it.

I read the Village Voice, and while it's obviously written with an agenda in mind, it's no less biased than any of the other publications out there.

I try, whenever possible, to visit the sites listed as sources from both pro-war and anti-war articles, to see for myself what is being quoted and in what context.
