Seriously, to co-opt a lsentament from someone else, I have always thought that no
matter how many horrible and corrupt things have done in the name of this country,
that it is still better than any one out there.

After all, as some wise men once said, "in order to form a more perfect union..." not
"...to form a perfect union." Someone back then understood that we can never be
perfect - that a society by the people and for the people will also be flawed.
Nevertheless, we try for "a more perfect union." We don't sit back and settle for what
our elected officials tell us. If we need to, it is our duty to hold their feet to the fire.
