View Full Version : Hairy Elvis` Stupid Father

Is it me or is it amazing that Father Elvis only reads newspapers from Turkey yet feels he is competent to judge this administration. Whats even more amazing is his stupid son says it on the air like he has a valid point. Maybe Hairy Einstein should do some more rounded reading instead of Islamic propaganda before he forms his opinion that this war is to make the rich Republicans richer.Give me a break. Go back to Armenia and take your hairy son with you.
I am editing this to admit that I came out with too vicious of a slant in this statement. Even though I have conservative views, it is unfair of me to be so insulting to Harry and his father. For this I apologize. Sorry Harry.

1) Most Americans only read US papers to get their information.
2) Turkey is part of the coalition of the willing.
3) His father is immersed in American society, and it's really difficult to avoid all the pro war arguments being discussed both in print and on news broadcasts. Furthermore, his father pays tax dollars and therefore he has every right to judge the goverment he's supporting with his hard earned money.
4) Your entire argument disgusts me.
5) We're a country of immigrants. Your statement is completely against what America stands for.

Go Silera!! Excellent points!
And it seems that now Turkey hasn't cleared the way for us to use their airspace because they want to be able to invade N. Iraq and attack the Kurds....a war within a war.

First of all you should do your research a little better. Turkey is a reluctant member of the coalition of the willing, only interested in the $30 billion dollar bounty. They are not allowing us to use their bases, only allowing us to fly over which by the way, so is France.
Furthermore, you mentioned only reading American papers. Is there a nation on earth but America that has newspapers from every point of view? WHAT POINT OF VIEW CAN`T YOU FIND? WHAT POLITICAL POINT OF VIEW IS OFF LIMITS HERE? THIS IS THE ONLY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD WHERE YOU CAN SLAM THE COUNTRY IN THE STREET AND BE PROUD OF IT. BY THE WAY, MOST LIBERAL MEDIA GOES RIGHT ALONG WITH THE SLAMMING. You really believe the Turkish papers are this rounded. Like it or not, the nation of Islam despises us.They admit it freely. The people of Turkey are not in love with us.
I have no problem with immigrants who love this country and who would do anything for it. But there are too many people coming into this country and pissing on us, raping our resources. Maybe you are disgusted with the wrong people.
Now I`m disgusted.

God!! If it's one thing that pisses me off, it's that ignorant "Only in America" diatribe that people are so fond of spitting out. And it's usually spit out by people who are largely untravelled.
Nothing happens "only in America". America isn't the only free country on the planet. America isn't the only country where people are allowed to freely exchange ideas and express opinions. That in itself is the same kind of narrow-minded, jingoistic propaganda that you accuse the Middle Easterners of using.
God forbid someone disagree with American policy, lest they be shipped back to "where they came from" or told to "go live over there then". If everybody agrees with all things American, then what's the point of having the freedom to disagree?.

Sooo ... you shouldn't live here if you don't buy into the "Only in America" school of thought. Despite the fact that most of the things people claim could only happen here actually happen all the time in countries all over the world. Anyone who refuses to swallow the propaganda should pack their bags and bounce. Or stay out completely.
Sooo ... America, as you envision it, only has room for the uninformed. Nice little country you have there in your head.

How can you not feel this is the greatest country in the world. I don`t have time to explain it to you but obviously you are "misinformed". Do these other countries you speak of have as many people trying to migrate ther as here. I have no trouble with immigrants. Only people that come here and hate the country. Have you heard, 19 of them took down the trade center?

Think whatever you want.
I'm sick of the fucking argument that people should just leave the country if they disagree with its current leadership.
Whether someone immigrated yesterday or 100 years ago, we're all protected by the same constitution and are free to have our opinions.
If you want to talk about research, and immigrants raping America's resources, immigrants aren't allowed to receive any federal aid. Furthermore, immigrants contribute more in taxes, and form a substantial percentage of small business owners, not to mention their contributions to large cities in the form of urban renewal.
Americans have to learn to respect other countries, and not assume that because there are language barriers or culture differences, that immigrants are less intelligent than them. The immigrants that uproot from the life and land they've known a lifetime, to embark upon a new life, and face whatever obstacles preclude them, truly reflect what the first Americans expected this new world to be.

Yes, papers here do cover every point of view, but you have to read multiple papers to do that. I dont know where you live, but in DC everybody has the OPPURTUNITY to read the post and the times, but almost all read one or the other. You cant claim that you're getting an unbiased news source simply because you read American newspapers; every newspaper has a bias and it is naive to think that tehy dont.
the nation of Islam despises us
The nation of Islam is Farakhan's orginization, not an actual country or region.
I must say that i am about as pro-America as possible, i make sure that i am well-read and i do my best to form my own opinion.
That said, somthing about your argument just makes me cringe. I ubderstand exactly what your saying, and i feel you have a valiant point. i just think you need to calm dow, breathe easy and stop trying to force your opinion on others. Thats not what America is about.

I like Harry and believe me I would like to see alot of people shipped out of this country way before Harry and his father. Harry is a fun part of the show and I guess i deserved some of the abuse. I was actually half joking because Ron was joking with Harry his father should take him and his family back to Armenia. But then all this anti-american stuff ticked me off
on this board. There is too much of that going around these days. Maybe people should start respecting this country as much as they worry about every other country. Maybe if people here start respecting this country, people in other countries will respect us more.

BESTINSHOW--- what you are missing is that dissent and disagreement are not unamerican at all, rather quite the opposite.
Perhaps you'd like to respond to this from Republican icon, Teddy Roosevelt, from 1918:
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the american public".

That is all well and good but I find many people are forming their opinions without proper knowledge. Many of these American anti-war movements are backed and sponsered by foreign organizations such as "Not in our name" which is a predominately socialist backed organization. I am afraid people are getting swept up in the propaganda wars. I mean technically everybody is against war, that is easy to say, but what is the solution by the people on the left. I have yet to hear one. I am not saying everyone, but most people that are anti-war are anti-war simply because they have decided, based on I don`t know what, that our intelligence is either lying or incompetent and Hussein is not a threat. Then they go on to call Bush a war monger as if he is enjoying this when he clearly stated based on his intelligence that we are in danger. These positions are not fair just as Senator Moran was not fair when he said this war was being driven by Jewish influence. I am sure it was his opinion but it was based on feelings, not facts and is completetly misguided.
Furthermore, these people are quick to label Bush as Hitler, yet I don`t see them saying a thing about Hussein or Palestine for targeting civilians. If you are so against violence against innocent people lets be a little more consistent.
By the way, I read in non other than the left wing NY Times this weekend that there is a growing Islamist population in Europe and this is fueling the anti-American protests there. Per the Times, much of Europe is more sympathetic to the Palestinians than Israel. Many of these organizations, as I mentioned above, are influencing the American protesters who naturally are fearful of the casualties of war. All I am saying is people should do a little more research before forming an opinion on something this important. The threat to us is a lot more complicated than just Al Queda. That was just one organization of many with similar beliefs. Iraq was known for paying the families of suicide bombers at the very least. There are
many more groups out there with the same intentions. Just because we have been okay since 9/11 don`t fall into a false sense of security. If we get complacent, 9/11 will seem like a picnic compared to what will happen.

Iraq was known for paying the families of suicide bombers at the very least.
many countries are guilty of this crime - not mearly iraq.
What "propaganda" are we swallowing?
Our news media is quite slanted. We never see images of civilian targets which are hit (and they are hit whether you want to believe it or not). Furthermore, most people in the "moral majority" (it seems including yourself) seem to feel that during war time people should have thier first amendement rights revoked in the name of solidarity or national pride.
There are too many people shooting off their mouths without the facts.
The facts in any situation are relative. That is, the observer must descide what is truth. For me, the fact is that many countries present more of a threat to the US besides Iraq (ie Saudi Arabi, N. Korea). For me, the fact that our country has decided to turn it's back on the UN - a crime for which Iraq is now being punished - seems hypocritical. The facts look very different to you.
Your problem is not with their facts - You just want everyone to see things the way you do (something you accused me of in the past). So you have started a thread called Hairy Elvis' Stupid Dad - for what - because he disagrees with you. I was upset last week because it seemed like no other opinions were being represented and your called me, what was it, oh yea - a facist. And yet, one person expresses a view which differs from yours and they are "stupid."
Who is the facist now?

Snooper, by the way, the last two quotes are from my posts. I hope I don`t have to draw you a road map. Looks like your comprehension hasn`t improved yet. And the "moral Majority" ? Please, what the hell is wrong with you? Don`t get me started on another diatribe with you because I don`t want to get banned.
As far as civilian targets being shown, what are you watching? Cartoons? They have been showing that market place and Iraqi propaganda films on every channel. But you want to see the brutish US troops committing attrocities because you know the real story. I don`t want to revoke peoples first amendment rights. Only the idiots need to shut up. Unfortunately they don`t know who they are. And by the way, Iraq isn`t being punished for abandoning the UN. It is being attacked for becoming a dangerous regime.
And Mr. Brain Surgeon, we didn`t abandon the UN, it abandoned us, by not supporting its own resolutions and cease fire agreement. But I guess you feel comfortable being judged in the UN by Libya and Syria.
And finally, because Korea and Saudi Arabia are also dangerous, that means we shouldn`t do anything to anyone? Don`t you think our intelligence is more capable than you in deciding what order to approach this war?
I guess not. Next time we will ask Snooper the Brain Surgeon what to do next.
