OK, Let me begin by saying I fully support an American's right to protest something they think is wrong. Everyone has a right to voice their opinion. But, what is the point of protesting a war, if you are going to do so in a VIOLENT way? Over 500 protestors around the country have been arrested for getting out of control. Now, the police and national guard have to be called in to control these protests.

Shouldn't the police and National Guard be spending more time on protecting our country and citizens against the high chance of a terrorist attack, rather than trying to keep order amongst war protesters? Our resources are already tapped out enough as it is.

In the immortal words of Marvin Gaye,

Picket lines and picket signs, don't punish me with brutality. . .what's goin' on?

Today's protesters never read Ghandi.

Did Dr. King threaten the KKK right back when he marched in Selma? Did sitting at the counter in Woolworth's constitute a fist thrown?

No.

It doesn't make ANY sense whatsoever that Peace protesters are violent.

The entire world has gone mad.

Douchebags suck. That's why i stopped going to the protests last year. It was becoming panifully obvious that too many people were showing up not fully educated on what they were protesting, and too many other just wanted to cause shit and make a scene. What the fuck does that accomplish?!?

When the informed stop protesting, only the fools causing the trouble remain.

You're right. But it's a double-edged sword. By being someone at the protests, it almost always automatically degraded my credibility with the very people I was trying to convince of other alternatives. I'd rather be able to debate one-on-one based on my own personal reuptation and knowledge as opposed to just being lumped in with a crowd en masse who are really just damaging the cause I'm trying to better educate people about.
