View Full Version : Wrestlemania Celebs

It used to be a Wrestlemania tradition to have celebrities appear at the big show, but they stopped that (with moinor exceptions) in the 90's because "the wrestlers are the celebrities."

Now I'm seeing comercials for Wrestlemania XIX featuring the Millier Light girls and mentioning others. Does this mean WWE doesn't have faith in their own product now? Or are they acknowledging that they need the extra pull to get people to tune in?

Any extra pull helps. They are hoping for the people who don't really follow wrestling, but know Wrestlemania and can see some celebs there.

Limp Bizkit is performing. You can always hope for Pete Rose appearance when kane is there. Also who is going to have a rap contest with John Cena. I heard Fred Durst as a rumor because he is there already or Snoop Dogg who was at Girls gone wild ppv.

It would be good if they got eminem considering that is who cena's gimmick is.

I swear, if this turns into another Mae Young skit, I will hunt down and seriously maim the creative team.

Ahhhh, the good ol' days of WrestleMania celebs. Here are some of my favorites-

-Susan St. James of Kate and Allie fame. The only reason she got this gig was because she was the wife of Dick Ebersol. Vinces buddy.

-Watergate alumni G. Gordon Liddy

-Burger Kings Herb. (?????)

-Wendys Where's the beef lady Clara Peller. All she had to do was yell "Where's the beef" in her mic. Her mic died as did she shortly afterwards.

-"Mr. Baseball" Bob Uecker at not one, but 2 WMs. He has as many WrestleMania appearances as Ric Flair. Scary.

-Steve Allen goofing on the Bolchevics in a bathroom and then ripping Jimmy Snuka a new one during his match with Rick Rude. Ironically, Steve Allen was one of the spokesmen for the PTC rallying against the WWF in 2000.

-Willie Nelson opening up WM7 and then getting high as a kite with the Nasty Boys in his trailer.

There are many more, but these are the most memorable to me.

what's the deal with Pete Rose anyway? Did he lose his soul to Vince on a bet and now has to show up at every Wrestlemania?

Pam Anderson and Jenny McCarthy in their prime. NICE!

WrestleMania is four hours long now. I don't mind hearing a band play.

Have any of them ever really added anything to the show?

To me, Pete Rose is the exception. I was entertained for several years by him getting taken out by Kane.

Ray Charles singing America the Beautiful. And Lawrence taylor and Mr. T were the main events for their Wrestlemanias. And Mike Tyson was big too as a referee
