Can someone explain this show to me? What is the storyline? What is it about? I missed all the previous episodes and I have no idea what the fuck is going on. What's with the big wasp-like ship?

Clue me in!

t was a very odd show. The dragonfly ship was named The Lexx. It was designed to be a weapon. a planet killer. basically, there was a war thousands of years before the start of the original series, Tales from a Parallel Universe, in which humans defeated this alien insect race. but one of them survived as some sort of disembodied spirit and took hold of a human. Skip forward 10000 years, and this alien intelligence reshaped our society to create this religion with him, The Divine Shadow, as the head.

also see lexx.com . I saw the first four movie-length
episodes on Showtime several years ago, which were
fantastic. Guest spots by people like Rutger Hauer and
Tim Curry. I even bought the soundtrack. But I have
yet to see any of the newer stuff on SciFi channel, is it?
I highly recmmend finding the first four episodes.

I seem to recall "Tales from a Parallel Universe" were a series of four 2 hour TV movies.

They were followed by Lexx, the series.

After the Light Universe was destroyed, they ended up in the Dark Universe, which contained Earth. The series finale featured the destruction of the planet and the Lexx.

However, Lexx had a baby Lexx (?) before blowing up, so the stage is set for a new series.
