That's right, $30 freakin dollars and who knows how much higher it will get. I'm sure you all are in the same boat as me, but damn, my pockets aren't that deep. If it gets much higher, I will honestly have to start thinking through driving places that aren't 'necessary' because of the cost. I'm damning my SUV now and I don't even have a big one.

I spend about 22 on my Truck, but it is a 15 gallon tank and extremely old, so I tend to fill it up about twice a week. Time to get that ugly hybrid car.

My dad actually has one. I like it, it's not that ugly. It's a Toyota Prius. He traded in his Infiniti Q45 because he felt guilty about having a gas guzzling V8 engine. I respect him for that, but I'm not ready to give up my SUV just yet.

Prices in Texas, or at leat near me, are averaging between $1.65-70 for regular unleaded.

About $20 to fill my Celica. Super is about $1.70 in the Trenton, NJ area. Go across the river to Pennsylvania, where you pump your own, and it's even higher.

I have only seen the Honda hybrid out on the roads. I didn't know that the Toyota prototype hybrid is already on the market. That one does look a little nicer.

As for gas prices, I pay from $1.49-1.53 for regular.

I just came back from Myrtle Beach, S.C. & thank God I didn't take my Grand Cherokee all the way down there.

Paying $1.55 and more in Jersey is bad enough, but some of the truck stops while passing through Virginia, etc. were upwards of $1.80! It would have cost me nearly $40 to fill the beast.

It cost me $32 to fill the tank for my ford taurus.

It doesn't even look cool like an SUV.Yeah but i bet you get at least 2 weeks without filling it again.

I pay $35 - $37 dollars every single week to fill my Ford Explorer.

Now I take a bus to work, and walk home.

I try as hard as i can to not move my car.

Buy an Escort. Mine just went over 190,000 miles and it still gets over 300 miles to a tank that takes about $15 to fill from almost bone dry.

I'm really anal about filling up my tank when it hits the halfway mark (a quirk inherited from Dad), so it only cost me $10 to fill up my Ford Taurus today... a far cry from the $12-15 it cost to do the same just a week & a half ago.

And in lovely Appleton, WI gas is $1.66 a gallon... an improvement over the $1.81 it's been very recently.

Spy Report

Gas in Milford, Pennsylvania
$1.65 regular
$1.75 special
$1.85 supreme

I just came back from Rite Aid and passed up a gas station on Rt.739 off Rt.84. It's awful. You can't afford enough gas to get away from the Deliverance people out here.

Gas ranges between $1.65 and $1.75 here in northern VA, and filling up my '97 Taurus costs me about $25. Luckily, I live two minutes from work and am a master at bumming rides when I go out, so I only have to fill up about once a month.

But once my car craps out in a year, I've already decided to get a hybrid, mianly for the VERY nice $2,000 tax break.

I cost me at least 30-35 dollars if I have to fill my tank(SUV, Mercury Mountaineer) and I get costco gas in Staten Island, Last night it was 1.71 for regular, Ive seen it as high as a 1.77 here.

Don't Believe the hype
