my first thoughts would be the crocodile or alligator but the polar bear is close...
that would be a good battle matchup...

Some kind of shark. Those things are to just swim, kill and eat.
But the polar bear pisses me off. They look all cute and cuddly, and I just want to share a Coke and some love with them, but the fuckers would claw my head off if I got near them. DENIED.

I would say it is the black mamba. Those snakes are the mf'ers (and I don't mean Mattitude Followers) of the animal kingdom. Not only are they exceedingly venomous and can kill most creatures with a bite, but they are excessively aggressive and will go after people and animals and attack. I believe their venom is a necrotic toxin, which means it literally rots the flesh from the inside..and fast. That's just flat-out evil. I could be wrong and it may be a neurotoxin, but that's still very mean.

Tough question to answer...depends on where you live, the chances that you might encounter it, and what your definition of "deadly" is...
When I was in Africa on safari, the only two animals that our tour guides were afraid of were in fact the Cape Buffalo and the Black Mamba. The reason the Cape Buffalo is so dangerous is that it's so unpredictable. A bull elephant can be extremely dangerous, but you can tell when it will attack. Otherwise, they pass right by you. Lions are pretty much lazy fucks. Indeed, the Black mamba (neurotoxic to answer a previous question) is extremely feared, not only because its venom is so deadly, but because it is extremely vicious and will attack unprovoked, as mentioned. It is still, however, not the most deadly venomous snake (if you go by LD50 that would be the relatively docile Fear Snake or Inland Taipan). The most deadly venomous animal is probably Australia's Box jellyfish. One sting and you can pretty much count on dying within a few minutes.
However, my vote for the deadliest animal would be the mosquito. It is by far responsible for more deaths (to humans) than any other animal. If I had the power to eliminate one animal from the earth, that would be my pick.

Mosquitos infect people with viruses.
The mosquito itself is harmless.
I don't believe viruses fall within the animal kingdom.
Moreover, mosquitos haven't exterminated entire speicies. During the course of our evolution we've exterminated millions. I think it's about 16,000 species a year currently. Not to mention the billions of humans killed by other humans.

Damm I so wanted to be the one who came out with Box Jellfish. Side note to that nasty little thing, not only is its venom the most deadly but the stingers and tenticals cling to the victim and break off the jellyfish, people have died trying to help the original victim because they came in contact with stingers so small they couldn't see them on the person they were helping.

Is there one particular animal that is more fierce and gruesome deadly and dangerous than any other?
OK I yield to Horde King, this section is called "Ask the Horde King" after all.
But my 2 cents:
My guess is the spirit of the question is an animal that across the board is the deadliest and fiercest.
We can go in lots of directions here. The mosquito, specifically the one Gina mentioned is in fact the most deadly to people...and has been responsible for the most deaths to people. It's not just the viruses they carry, they carry all sorts of nasty stuff...bacteria, West Nile, Dengue, Yellow Fever, Malaria, etc. Is it fierce? I don't think fierce, like wolverine fierce or black mamba fierce.
I know a lot about the box jelly....my late Evolutionary Biology Professor was the first person to take a picture of one in its natural environment (in the ocean). Cubo medusa (Chironex fleckeri) is mad poisonous, but I don't know about fierce either.
Then let's look at snakes. Various sea snakes are extremely poisonous but pretty tame. Other snakes (like the mamba) are both fierce and deadly poisonous. The common cobra is responsible for more deaths but if you get bitten by a King Cobra, you're more likely to die, because of the volume of venom injected.
I understand those who might say humans, but all you have to do is know Horde King and you cannot lump his species as the most deadly and fierce across the board. The guy is our resident pacifist and overall wise man and great person.
Viruses are most often classified in their own Kingdom.
Again, I vote for the mosquito, but am waiting for my live in expert to chime in on this one.

The most deadly venomous animal is probably Australia's Box jellyfish. One sting and you can pretty much count on dying within a few minutes.
Killer jellyfish population explosion warning (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/main.jhtml?xml=/earth/2008/02/08/eajelly108.xml)
It could easily have been the role model for the terrifying creature in the film 'Alien'.
A perfect toxin-loaded killing machine, there is no creature on earth that can dispatch a human being so easily or so quickly.
The box jellyfish is so packed with venom that the briefest of touches can bring agonising death within 180 seconds.
And if comes under sustained attack it responds by sending its compatriots into a super-breeding frenzy in which millions of replacements are created.
The really bad news is that the box jellyfish and another equally poisonous species, Irukandji, are on the move. Scientists are warning that their populations are exploding and will pose a monumental problem unless they are stopped.

"...unless they are stopped." How many times have we had to put forth this mantra? The Huns, the Vikings, the Nazis, the sentient robots we will one day be fighting in the streets.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/graphics/2008/02/08/eajelly108b.jpg
The jellyfish have a formidable array of genetic equipment to help them survive:
Four brains that operate competitively in the search for food.
A highly complex sensory capacity and the ability to distinguish colour.
The ability to live in inhospitable waters at a depth of up to 10,900 metres.
A total of 24 eyes with moveable pupils giving them 360-degree visibility.
Box jellyfish have 6-8ft long tentacles. Just 5-6ft across the body is enough to kill a human in 180 seconds.
Venom is released on contact - even after it is dead - and each creature has 4000,000,000 venomous fibres.
Humans who have been stung and survived have needed 30-40 milligrams of morphine. A broken leg requires between 5-10 milligrams.
Despite decades of study scientists have been unable to unravel the mysteries of its complex venom but it is known to contain 20 different proteins.

A few of us at work talk about this from time to time eventually delving into the, 'animal versus animal' conversation. Given the size, strength, speed and ferocity; I don't think anything on the planet could handle an agitated Silver-Back Gorilla.
