Now that Goldberg is signed, will he be the savior of the WWE?

When the ratings took a nosedive in 2001, everyone said that the return of HHH fom his injury would boost ratings. That wasnt the case. Bringing back Hogan and the NWO didnt do anything. Rocks return and the return of Austin didnt bring the ratings up and Scott Steiner became a flop.

Alot of internet marks are going to say that Goldberg will bring back the WWE to what it was during the late 90's

I hope the WWE returns to its dominance, but i wouldnt be surprised if the ratings stay in the 3's

Kinda makes you think when the #1 rapper is white and the #1 golfer is black

Not at all. For being the only completely home grown talent for WCW, he sucks ass. You may get a 2 week spike just out of curiosity, but the ratings would go lower then they are.

The ratings will rise for 1 week, then plummet again.

Goldberg Destroyed WCW and will destroy WWE too, I guess I can look forward to more Everquest on Monday nights, soon...

EDIT: I take that back. Hogan destroyed WCW, Goldberg was just the "spear" in the coffin...

Your quite right my friend. They started out as the Ebony Express in the GWF (Global Wrestling Federation). Alot of other great talents came out of there such as The Patroit, The Lightning Kid (Sean Waltman in his prime), The Handsome Stranger (Buff Bagwell)

Goldberg Destroyed WCW and will destroy WWE too That statement is just ignorant. At a time when the WWF was giving it right regularly to WCW without lube Goldberg was the only reason people tuned in. "The Streak" was the most exciting thing in WCW. No one gave two shits about the NWO in any form. They destroyed Sting's Crow thing by making him join NWO red and thus killing off the silent lone invincible guy vibe he had. WCW was just a comedy of errors that Goldberg had nothing to do with and the place was doomed when he hit the door. To blame Goldberg for the demise of WCW is really stupid. Goldberg was the last gasp of breath for WCW and the last thing anyone really cared to see.

What do you want from us? We're EVIL! EVIL!!!!!!

If Goldberg does not spike the ratings for Raw, I really do believe that it is time to hit the panic button. I, for one, do not like Goldberg. I never have and I never will. But after him, there is nobody else that Vince could acquire that would boost business. It might be time for Vince to reset for a few years and start to work on guys like Cena, Haas, Benjamin, Orton, and Batista as the real future of WWE. That means having a few years of bad ratings and bad programming.

...Goldberg is no savior. He is a one dimensional character that acheived success with the same angle that was used to get Kurt Angle over when he debuted. The difference was that WCW stretched the undefeated streak out, and then rode out whatever sucess that garnered. Kurt Angle's undefeated streak last a few monthes, and ended by putting over Tazz in his debut. Kurt's streak was used to get him to the next angle and to help open him up and show his flexablity as a wrestler and entertainer. Goldberg was never sucessful after the undefeated angle was over, he simply rode out the wave of his undefeated streak.

His debut will spike the ratings, bt Goldberg is no wrestler to stake a company on. The WWE needs to make the first few shows with Goldberg very entertaining, and needs to present high quality angles, if they wish to build their audience. Goldberg is the panic button, and the WWE needs to capitalize on it.

Maybe Goldberg can wrestle Ppiper again, and job to him at Wrestlemania this time. (If they decide to bring Piper back, probably isn't to far off since the WWE is desperate).
Russo killed WCW, two words David...Arquette

They aired a Goldberg promo tonight AND Piper did a run-in in the Hogan/Vince match. Good call.
