After Iraq falls

After Iraq falls, what do you think will become of the country? Surely a military occupation, but after that? Do you think the UN will administer Iraq? or maybe a US backed puppet government.

Personally, I think we're going to cut Iraq up. Give the southern portion to US "friendly" Kuwait and create Kurdistan in the north(although that'll piss off the Turks). Central Iraq may remain as Iraq, or maybe they'll just give that to Iran. Just to fuck with them.

I'm guessing that it will eventually be a US backed democracy. But it will take years of military occupation first until they are ready to stand on their own. Our gov is probably thinking 5-10 years of occupation. in a volitile area like the Fertile Crescent, I would double that at least.
