You raise a good question, and I questioned myself on that decision. My thinking was that if I volunteer my free time to take the interview seriously and wear a tie (on a weekend), then I expect the prospective student to take the interview seriously.

I do not expect the student to wear a suit or a tie. Several students have shown up with a Mohawk, various piercings, or pink hair. That is ok with me because it defines their personaility and individuality. But this particular student wore a dirty hat (which he could have easily taken off), chewed gum, and looked and acted like he was doing me a favor for showing up (late) for the interview.

I essentially cut the interview short when it seemed he didn't give a shit. I later called the Assistant Dean of Admissions and explained what happened and she agreed with my action 100%.

Interview? All i did was send them that bullshit chek with my aplication and got in. With all the fukin money out there is that 40$ i have to send in really necessary, fuk you can get a tabel in a resturant for a 20. The biggest problem with the chek is if you dont get in they keep the money, so if you apply to 4 or five schools your talking 200$ and 160$ waisted. This is just another example of school is a money making business, not a place to better students but to take advantage of them.

Cutting the interview short is a more accurate description of what I did than send him home based upon his appearance. I think my follow-up provided greater clarification.

Now if he was wearing a New Jersey Devils hat...he would have gotten in with a full scholarship. I hope you would agree.

I'm actually interested in possibly attending Princeton's Hellenic Institute. I'm a Byzantinist in the making,so to speak. Princeton has a beautiful campus. I've went to a couple of lectures there. I got to get to the library one of these days.

Anyway, the Devils? Rangers in 2010!!!

Three different colleges attended, three different interviews. The one school I REALLY wanted in to, however, REQUESTED that my parents be there for the interviews...and that was the ONLY school I didn't get into. Coincidence? I think NOT...

Sadly, I don't really remember the other interviews...I think they were all mostly about my application essays, because those seriously impressed at all three schools...

Long story short, although I failed to impress him much with any of my actual credentials, he got to fuck this real good looking blonde whore that night and the next thing I know, well, let's just say that it seemed like Princeton could use a guy like me.

Did I mention he was previously fucking some middle-aged Indiana divorcee name Ann Romano, who, truth be told, just wasn't much to look at? I'm pretty sure that had something to do with it.

Your MUCH better off going to a small, cheap, easy to get into school with less competition, less stress, more fun, and getting a 4.0.
A 4.0 at Queens college will get you many more prospects than a 3.0 from Princeton.

i don't know what this thread is about, but...

i went on one interview, and that was for the college i ended up going to. i met the guy at a diner, and he had a muffin and tea. he proceeded to suck on the lemon from the tea for like ten minutes... i just couldnt take him seriously. but, i got in, so i guess my sparkling personality paid off for once
