God Bless America Baseball Opneing Day

Today was baseball's opening day, during the Yankees game in Toronto I appreciate the fact that the Canucks didn't boo our anthem or God bless America, but I am a bit disturbed by the people participating during the 7th inning stretch. Celine Dione sang God Bless America while a mounte held the American flag, i mean i understand the game was in Canada but come on, they couldn't import any Americans to sing and hold the flag?

That's all well and good, but what the fuck is gonna happen to the Yanks if they lose Jeter for a serious amount of time? I'm scared, someone hold me.

I can't remember the last time opening day wasn't a joyous occasion, but this did it for me today. Not good.

Forget about Jeter and the rest of the crowd for a minute. The question was about Opening Day.
Opening Day for me has always meant that Spring was here. Never mind that there might be snow on the ground or that the air still has a little nip to it- Spring has sprung. Also, It is a uniquely American time. Do you ever hear of Opening Day for the Cricket Season-NO and who cares. Ah, but Baseball. Sport of champions and ALL-Americans!!! Bring forth the Ball-Park Dog and a big cup of cold beer!! Batday!!! Fouls caught in your old mitt!!!
Take me out to the ballgame-Take me out to the crowd!!!!!

Exactly.

And opening day showed that for the 17th consecutive season, my Red Sox have no depth in their pitching staff. A 5-run, 9th inning to Tampa Bay? It's going to be a long season.
