There was a Prayer meeting in the Bronx today attended by service men and women and their families. After several prayers for peace and for those missing to be found, the Bronx Borough President stepped up and made the announcement that this female soldier had just been rescued. Such amazingly good news. She was found in Sadaam Hospital. I'm sure the Iraqi's will end up saying she was in the hosptal because of her wounds (she had been shot several times), but I think we all know the real reason they put her there.

this really is some sweet news. i caught it walking
through the hallway here at school. i sat down,
watched and smiled. I thought of her parents and how
elated they are, I thought of the troops and how it will
boost morale, I thought of so many people out there
and how it will put a human touch on this liberation
effort.
we got the best damn men and women out there. i'm
proud of them.
i was driving down Rt 84 here in PA and i drove past
this convoy of army vehicles the other day. one long
blue bus, about 8 enormous cannon looking things
under tarp, and an assortment of other vehicles. i
started beating on my horn like a mad man, rolled
down my window and gave them a thumbs up through
the freezing rain. each vehicle in that convoy had a
smiling driver blaring their horns back at me. support
these people, they support us.
God bless that family, and all the families and their
loved ones out there.

It is current because she's one of our witnesses to the brutality of the Saddam regime. But she has selective amnesia. But with the other tread re: the media......was it over publicized to put a positive spin on the war? Excuse me if this is a feel good story. But it is still current.

hOnestly, things have been getting better. I've been doing some research for an article, and it drew me into studying the media during the late 1800s. That was some journalism so yellow you'd think Hearst was literally pissing into the presses. but I still long for a media that has no spin, no bias, just facts . . . or at least when it states opinion, it says that its opinion, and separates it from the regular news.
