New Line "Selling out" on Lord of the Rings?

It's not like it's on a "Star Wars, Episode 1" scale, but it is a little silly, maybe cheapens the name a little. I don't think it's <I>that</I> bad myself, but what do you guys think?

Who cares. It is not like you will see Viggo Mortenson drinking a 7up or Frodo drinking Dr. Pepper in return of the king. This is the only movie in the near future that is on an epic scale like Titanic. They want to make the most money possible.

I actually said almost the exact same thing, when I heard about it, how "as long as it doesn't hurt the actual movie/dvd it's not a big deal" I'm actually amazed they got away with <I>not</I> doing anything like that for <I>Fellowship</I>.

as they shouldn't, they should be able to rely on the money the make in the theaters and dvd's to make money. this is an epic movie about people of all different backrounds helping to destroy those who would want to conrol them...
