Well, I did, and it's fantastic.
I hadn't watched this special since I had first bought the tape collection a few years back, and they've added even more footage, making it a good 15 hours now, and I'm not tired of ANY of it. The live footage is stunning, STUNNING...just saw a live version of "Nowhere Man", which I've NEVER seen before, and I'm giddy because of it.
Now while I understand people who may pick the Beach Boys or Rolling Stones over the Beatles, the people I encounter every now and then who try to pull off the "oh, I don't like Beatles because they SUCK" or "man, the Beatles are SO overrated" arguments are easily the most boldfaced liars on the goddamn planet. And if you think that's true, check your soul because I think it's a given you're an emotionless, cold, baby-crushing robot, and I'm going to pound your ugly, metal skull in with a stick before you start menacing old people for their pills with your mighty, evil robot-claws.

Mojo,
What I am about to tell you amounts to a full blown confession. I can remember (albeit...barely) seeing the Beatles on their Ed Sullivan show. My aunt was a rabid Beatle's fan from day one. My sister Kathleen was also a great fan of the Mop Tops!! I have always liked them and have always given them their due when it came to crediting them with the evolution of music as we know it today. Still love them Stones though!!!

Wish I coulda been there for it...I can really appreciate bands like the Stones, but ultimately they stayed grounded firmly in the "rock" realm with little shots at blues and R&B here and there, but the Beatles just went all out in terms of musical experimentation...and when you sit back and realize that they basically put out ALL of their major records in just SEVEN years, my GOD...it's mind-boggling...

No, I'm pretty poor lately. I do have all the Anthology cd's and the book which has excellent pictures. If anyone would like to buy me an early birthday present it would be greatly appreciated to complete my Beatles collection.

I hate people like that. They knew when to call it quits before their music started to suffer like The Rolling Stones, not that I don't appreciate their earlier work. Yes they were pop, but their music had so much meaning behind it and thats why their music is timeless.

I love those Liverpool monkeys. I, too, just up-graded to the Anthology DVD. The quality is so bloody great that I've begun to date an Asian artist and remarked to my mom that I'm bigger than Jesus.

Ill pick it up eventually, i just dont have any scrilla at this moment...
I think its also a testament to the Beatles greatness that every member had a pretty great solo career or success with another band..

Does the anthology show anything about how they made Revolution #9 off the White album?

I'm about to pull the trigger on this one. Anybody want to sway me otherwise? Speak now or forever hold your peace (or piece if you'd like)....

Nah, I think it was German TV appearance, but it was actually performed and not lip-synched...

I picked it up yesterday. My five year old has been singing "Paperback Writer " and " I Want
to Hold Your Hand" for about a week, since a tv ad ran on " Jimmy Neutron". He's been shouting out requests all day. I am so proud.
