Tongiht CNN is reporting that an Al Jazeera was killed in the bombing that was intended to kill Saddam. Apparently the bombing took place in a highly residential neighborhood, which I didn't hear reported until CNN changed to CNN Worldwide, which is essentially CNN UK.

Anyway, Al Jazeera is already claiming they were targeted. This could be trouble. I'd link to an article, but I'm too damned tired. Maybe in the morning.

I was watching Fox News this afternoon, and they reported that the Al-Jazeera HQ in Baghdad was shelled by US tanks because the tanks were coming under "significant" fire.

According to Fox, US tanks also shelled the 14 floor of the Palestine Hotel (Where foreign journalists are located) because of enemy sniper fire. Of course, the info minister was on hand immediately to reassure reporters that Iraq would look after their well being, and that it was another example of the US targeting civilians.

CNN UK rules. I was wondering why CNN suddenly stopped sucking last night, and now it makes sense.

Al-Jazeera reported that a U.S. missile struck the building in which the bureau is
located, killing correspondent Tareq Ayoub. A cameraman, Zuheir al-Iraqi, was also
reportedly injured by flying shrapnel.

An on-air anchor later charged that the U.S. military was deliberately targeting the
channel's offices, which are located in a residential area and had been posted with
yellow signs reading "Press."

The BBC reported that the Baghdad bureau of Abu Dhabi TV had also been hit by U.S.
artillery fire, and Reuters said that one of its cameramen and a Spanish cameraman
were killed and three of its staff members were wounded when a U.S. tank fired at the
Palestine Hotel, where most of the foreign press are headquartered.

U.S. commanders acknowledged that a tank fired into the hotel after it had been shot
at from an upper floor, however many of the reporters for the foreign press denied
hearing any gunfire.

Late Monday, al-Jazeera said that U.S. soldiers fired on one of its vehicles outside
Baghdad and had detained correspondent Waddah Khanfar in northern Iraq, then
released him.

During the past week, the channel has also been attacked from the Arab side. It was
denounced by the Iraqi government, and the government of Bahrain expelled its
reporters on grounds that the channel was "infiltrated by Zionists."

I hope no other troops or reporters die, but this is war. As Centcom and the Pentagon said, if you're a reporter with an Armed Forces unit, you're the safest you can be in war time. If you're freelancing around Iraq on your own, you are in grave danger. Look at those poor Polish journalists that made a wrong turn and hit an Iraqi roadblock. I hope they let them go like those 2 recently returned journalists that popped up in Jordan.

far more important than those scumbags getting bombed is the fact that - there is a new anchorwoman popping up all over the news called Laura Logan and she is goddam hot!! almost makes me grateful for the war!

A "person?" Hardly. By their action they have lost all trace of humanity. (And I feel the same way about murderers in America and worldover).

Ironcially, Billy Staples was bombed too.

But not by the military.

And not by weapons.

Bombed meaning drunk.

It's an expression.

Bombed that is, for being drunk.

Super.
