Last week, I interviewed for a mid level position t aninvestment bank. I met wih HR andthe rep from HR recommended me to meet with the dept head. In my previous jobs my salary was set, but this job has a salary range. My question is if everything goes well, do they make me an offer tomorrow? and what are some good salary negotiation strategies?

Kinda makes you think when the #1 rapper is white and the #1 golfer is black

I wouldn't assume an offer is coming tommorow, but I would take the whole thing with a grain of salt if it didn't. So far as negotiation, it's mid-level investment work, I would let my credentials negotiate for me.

the second interviews tend to be less formal. They've already met you. It's been my experience that they won't make an offer, but they'll give you an idea of what to expect.

2nd interviews are indeed less formal, but they call you back to get a second look at you so it's vital to continue to make a good impression.

Always assume that the salary offered is lowball. It would help greately if you know the average salary of a guy in your field. That places you in a better position to effectively bargain.

Everything is negotiable.
