virtual cinematography is the main component of what the new matrixes will be impressing us with.

But the Burly Brawl(the code name for the new matrix movies) became Gaeta's personal obsession. Like many in the film industry, he has been talking for years about the promise of virtual cinematography, a confluence of technologies that would allow directors to sculpt actors' performances with the ease of tweaking a CAD file. The traditional ways of doing this, however, reduce the world to the kinds of data that computers easily understand, and the result often ends up looking like a glorified videogame. That wouldn't work for the Burly Brawl, a fight that erupts in a virtual prison indistinguishable from the real world.

This is an amazing developement, it works from the outside in. they imput the original picture (neo and agent smith) a 360 degree shot, then using the technology they can manipulate it in anyway they want creating a new scene that is completely computer generated and the "camera" takes shots from any spherical angle. I've seen screenshots and clips that use this, and it is impossible to tell them from real photography. I can't imagine what amazing special effects can be done with this but i look forward to it.

This is an amazing effect that adds a different look to the movie. I'm really excited to see what they can pull off with it.

Wonder if Rory knows about this.
