I adore Ron and Fez, but lately I find myself not laughing at it anywhere near as much as I have in the past. The reason for this, I believe, is that they're starting to repeat themselves. The same hair-shaving bets, the same make-fun-of-Billy bits, the same dressing down of the interns; it's getting old. The boys need to clean house. The whole Billy thing has been played, Mikey D adds nothing to the show, Rory is still dull, even though they have tried to make him a bigger part of the show, it's not working. Ron and Fez need to start with a clean slate in DC, and get rid of the dead weight. If they bring in some new people, it will create storylines for the show. I LOVE Ron and Fez, but I'm tired of hearing the same shit over and over again. Believe me, I'm not saying all this because I don't like R&F-I'm saying it because I DO like them, and I know they are better and funnier than the stuff we've been hearing lately.

Well, not to belittle your suggestion, but the boys seem to have a good handle on self-correction of their show. Right as the Al Dukes stuff was getting to be a bit much, they gave an appropriate series of payoff with the Big Ass Night of Fights, and they sent him to exile. If Ron and Fez were lazy or untalented, they could have rode Dukes for a long time(see Stern, Howard and Booey, Baba). But they kept things fresh by keeping the show evovling.
But with the shift to DC, which was a quasi debut in the market(considering the big push in the new timeslot), there is a necessary adjustment period to get everyone used to the perphial characters(Mikey D, Billy, Rory, Hawk). I'm sure some sort of bloodletting will occur, as it looks unlikely that Mikey D will be able to continue when they go fulltime DC, and perhaps Billy will be unable to, so we'll see some sort of a kiss-off to those characters. New ones will come aboard, and the show will go on. Don't forget, they survived a completely new supporting cast after much Flordia success, so they will land on their feet. But to make a depature or shakeup meaningful, they need to build these guys up first. So that means repeating some stuff to the new DC fans. I don't know if you're NY or DC based, I'd be quite interested to hear.
And aside from all that, the guys seem a bit depressed to me. And I don't begrudge that, it's been a rough patch for them, and I"m sure they miss that NY energy to feed off. And that's not to knock our great DC friends, who've been too cool and gone above and beyond the call of duty in keeping us in the tri-state area in the Ron and Fez loop. But I think it's somewhat undeniable that there is a certain spark missing, and the unbelievable material that came from a NY based show, from city events, news and people, to whacked out callers, is simply not as frequent inside the beltway.
But these guys are SURVIVORS and will get it going again. And I'd bet that it will be sooner than later.

I agree with this in theory, but it's not really practical. I always loved when they'd "sweep out the old characters", as hard as it may have been to let some of the favorites go, it let the boys try something new. As it's been stated already, this is an odd situation because they're still in NYC for a good part of the year, so the smart thing to do would be to keep as much of your staff to keep the show running as smoothly as possibly. Maybe limit the staff's airtime and push to really add some new people to replace them as on-air personalities?

Just eliminate Billy from any airtime. That will improve the show greatly.

I always figured the reason they were repeating bits is because they were in a new market and the new audience hasn't heard them before. So to get the new audience acquainted with the show and the characters, they just did stuff over again as if it was new.
May the force be with you.

I've heard that he's not making the final move to D.C., but the answer for comedy gold is...HAWK!
He's been getting on air more recently and I'm now positive that he's the funniest guy on the staff. "We need to take the power AWAY from the people".
For a week straight they did constant Billy bits that were hilarious but did get overdone.
When Hawk gets on the air TRY not to laugh, it's impossible, he's so funny.

I won't argue with your points, but I am happy with the show.
R&F know what they are doing and I am confident that should change be needed, they'll do it in good time, with style.

Billy Staples is cool on the show. I enjoy him and so do many other people that listen to the show. Get rid of the pompus Mikey D if anyone.
Ron and Fez have got some new people on board lately in DC. People have showed up and are regulars on the show, they are making friends. Give them time, they will find there niche.
Ron and fez have been in DC since they were on the 11-3am shift on JFK, it is nothing new. Sorry that NY is out of the mix now, I enjoyed the callers. But the worse stunt in radio history has prevented that. Management and other DJ's.

i would miss billy. I actually like it when ron and fez get on him.
Fezzie's impression of Billy "du-da-du-da du dado" and Ron with his evil sarcastic shots are the best. I missed him when I couldn't get the show for a while
but...the show doesn't seem to be as funny, but i'm still interested. I think the NY callers had a lot to do with it.
BIG ASS CARD HOLDER 316006 r+f are gone. Al is still gay. and Billy is still a drunk. and a waste. and sad. I even miss Billy.

I think Billy adds to the show with the way his crazy mind works. I think when Fez gets on Billy it is histerical. Maybe Hairy Elvis needs more time considering he has some crazy ideas about the world.

You try talking for 4 hours a day, every day (plus that month they were doing two-a-days) and not start repeating yourself eventually.
