my sister is getting married this summer, and i'm the maid of honor. as such, among my duties is the responsibility of planning the bachelorette party. i'm looking for ideas. my sister has already indicated that she is not interested in having a stripper, or going to a strip club. so that's out. i have a couple of ideas thus far, but i'd really like to hear any that you guys may have gotten from the bachelorette parties that you've been to.

this question is primarily for the ladies, but if you boys know of any good ideas, throw them my way, as well.

Arienette,

A couple of questions.

How old is your sister?
What does she like to do?
Have you asked her what she would like to do?
How many people are you going to invite?

I know some girls go to different bars and have a list of things to get or do for the bachelorette party.

Others just go out to dinner and maybe have a few drinks.

You should really ask her what she wants to do. Bachelor and Bachelorette parties don't have to be suprises.

For my bachelor party we played golf all day and went back to my brothers house for a barbeque and poker all night we had about 20 guys go. I was 30 and I have done the stripper thing so I did not care about that. I just wanted to be with my brothers and friends.

Thank you Ron and Fez for finally being live in DC again.
Ok let's get the boys back live in NY. Don't give up the fight.

I don't know how this helps but I always get embarrassed for the group of extremely drunk girls on a bachelorette party that are drinking Fuzzy Navels from a penis straw while 40 year old men fall in line and try to be the first one to bite the life saver that's taped to the bride's tit.

How many people are you going to invite?let's see here... she's 26. as for what she likes to do, i'd say not much. she's not so into going out or anything in particular. she promised me that she would try to have fun, though, for the one night. the one thing that she's said about what she wants is that she'd like it to be a surprise... so there goes the asking her thing. i'm inviting around ten or fifteen people, but expect less than ten to come

I'm definitely a guy, but I have a suggestion. Does she like karaoke? A woman I work with got married recently and wasn't into the whole stripper scene, so they went karaoke-ing. She loved it.

I say you play canasta, maybe do some needlepoint, and have some Country Time lemonade.

Go for the 80's cheese - Culture Club.that was my initial idea (which is still on the table). everytime i've been there, there have always been a few bachelorette parties going on. they are always the most annoying and obnoxious people. they are the reason i don't go there anymore. i figured that it's probably more fun if you ARE the annoying, obnoxious group.

How about all the girls having a blowjob contest? I'll judge.

i think the general idea here is that after the party she would marry a man....your lack of "quantity" might make her completely disgusted with the male race and just turn her gay

Have I done you? Or are you just assuming that a man with all that charm, talent, and good looks couldn't possibly also be well endowed? You're right, it doesn't seem fair.

oh yeah, one more question to the few people actually taking this seriously... is having the party a week before the wedding too eary?

No a week before is perfect. Remember the night before the wedding is the rehersal dinner. You don't want to have any time restraints on your bachelor/bachelorette party. You also don't want to have a hangover at the wedding.

Is culture club an 80's retro bar where you could go dancing all night. That sounds like fun, try and rent a limo or a van. Do you know your sisters friends.
