View Full Version : Wrestlers who never worked for McMahon

I'm talking about from the 80's to now. The only big stars that I could think of from that time are Sting, Abdullah the Butcher, and Jimmy Garvin. Everyone else has worked for Vince McMahon in some capacity. Whether it was a one shot appearance or short stint.

A few of marginal recognition:
Nikita Koloff(probably the biggest besides Sting?)
Magnum TA(probably would have, but for his accident)
Stan Lane(commentator, never wrestled if memory serves)
Bobby Eaton(lifetime WCWer)
Nick Bockwinkel(I don't believe he ever did, a little over the hill by the time VKM took over)
Jumpin Joe Savolidi(come on, you didn't think he'd betray Mario!)
Greg Gagne(insert joke here, but was a name)
Alex Wright(not a name at all, just filling space)
Steve Corino(I always thought he deserved a shot)
Austin Idol(I don't think he did, and he was big in the south)
Al Perez(may be wrong here)
Kevin and David Von Erich(not counting deadones who didn't reach their potential)Chris Adams, Iceman King Parsons, Jack Victory, Eric Embry(from the World Class Championship Wrestling delegation, staying in the Frank Dusek suite)
Larry Zybskyko(ok, obviously he started here, but he never worked for VKM, which is very suprising given his WWF pedigree of the Bruno feud. I sense heat here, or Larry is just a big prick, because he had the talent in the ring and on the mic to be on the level of Hogan, Flair, Piper, Steamboat)
hmmm... I think more will come to me. It's not a long list however.

Did he ever work outside of Parsippany, NJ? The only place I know him from is events at either of Parsippany's High Schools or outdoor events at Smith Field...did he actually work outside NJ?

Sabu actually appeared twice on raw and sandman once. During the ECW (1st time) invasion of the WWF, Sabu jumped off the Raw sign at the old place they use to tape raw onto Raven prior to the First ECW PPV (which i attended) and also wrestled RVD the night after the ECW PPV against i believe. and sandman also apperead on said show and was at the event when they threw the beer in Savio Vegas face.
But here is what i can come up with that havent been said:
1. Pitbulls
2. Abdullah the butcher
3. Hulk Hogan
4. Masahiro Chono
5. Muta

I don't think Eddie Gilbert or Missy Hyatt ever worked for Vince, but I may be mistaken...
I'll throw in Jushin "Thunder" Liger and Ultimo Dragon, and Scott Norton for fun.
Bill Kasmeir?
Ole Anderson?
Kevin Sullivan? I don't remember him ever being around the WWF(E), unless I missed something....
Let me know if I'm wrong with any of those...

Missy Hyatt did work for the WWF a couple of times
on that end: Kimona Wauna Lai Ya or whatever never worked for vince

-Nick Bockwinkle worked as an "official"
-Al Perez worked as a jobber in 1989. I remember seeing his debut at MSG. I was the only one in the arena who knew who he was.
-Eddie Gilbert began his career in WWF as a jobber.
-Missy Hyatt worked one appearance for Vince in 1987 as a replacement for "Piper's Pit". She flopped so badly that she left right after.
Kevin Sullivan, Ole Anderson and Bobby Eaton qualify as big names to me who have'nt worked for Vince.

Liger was a former WWF Light Heavyweight Champion
I don't think that's correct. I think you're confusing the WWF lightheavyweight championship with the WCW cruizerweight title.
Or maybe you're confusing Lyger with Great Sasuke.
The only way I can see you being correct is if Lyger was the holder of the "WWF Juniorheavyweight Title", which if I'm not mistaken was part of a series of belts that Lyger perhaps won off of Ultimo Dragon in Japan. But that's shaky ground, seeing as the WWF hasn't recognized the junior title in ages. Decades.
As for Bobby Eaton, I'm positive that he worked as a trainer in HWA or OVW...one of those two. So technically, he may qualify as having worked for Vince.

Wildfire and Adams were never in WWF. Brody might have if he wasn't killed so young. Magnum TA also had he not suffered a career ending injury so young may have also went to McMahon as well.

I suppose it is pretty shakey Se7en. it was part of the J-Crown eight belt thing and it was in 1997, so by then it was called the light heavyweight championship. So technically...no one really knows.

He did. He was supposedly found in a cave. Equipped with wrestling gear. He had Bobby Heenan as his manager. He was involved in the blockbuster manager trade between Heenan and Jimmy Hart. Hart sending King Kong Bundy to Heenan for Missing Link and Adrian Adonis.

Low Ki worked for the WWE. There's a match between him and Essa Rios floating around the internet. It was on Metal which is why WWE fans never knew that he was there.
