If a rap battle turns violent, it's not a rap battle...it's a punk battle. I'm talking for sheer lyrical content, Eminem picks some weak, WEAKass battles. Did anyone even think for a second that Eminem would do nothing but DESTROY Ja? He calls out guys like Ja, like Everlast, like Fred Durst...but then gets straight up, in his face-challenged by some hardcore battle rappers like Evidence and Canibus (His albums suck HARD, but the man is a powerhouse of a battle MC), and he just pretends like it never happens...

I LOVE a good rap battle. It keeps things fresh...but too many of these idiots want to make it into something real, and instead of keeping the battle lyrical, they start beating or shooting each other up. Ja didn't have 50 Cent shot, it was that tool he works for, Irv Gotti...Ja is just some bubblegum know-nothing. Gotti is the wannabe gangsta trying to run with the gangbangers and drug dealers...

I just want to see Eminem throw it down with some REAL MC's, like he used to! The guy has serious skill! Battles don't even have to be all negative and personal...it can just be two guys bouncing their lyrical styles off of each other...and how the hell is Eminem gonna do that running around with hacks like D-12 and 50 Cent?

i mean canibus hasnt been the same since "The Ripper Strikes Back" there isnt anyone 2day who can battle eminem, hes too good of a lyricist.

the only good battle song ive heard against eminem was Malcolm X by Royce da 5' 9". the track is really against d12 but he gets some good potshots on slim. but the misunderstanding was takin care of and theres no more beef anymore......

Evidence levelled a beast of a song at Eminem called "Searching 4 Bobby Fisher"...

And there are plenty of artists around today who could give Em a run for his money in a battle...Cannibal Ox, J-Live, Aesop Rock, Illogic, K-OS, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Eyedea, Labtekwon, KRS-One, El-P, Zion I, Chali 2Na, Mr. Lif, Black Thought...

Eminem has some serious talent, but I think it's nuts how everyone raves about how "he's the best by far" when he hasn't battled anyone real FOR real in years, and his albums have become pretty repetitive in terms of content...let the man stretch, dammit!

actually i kno alot of ppl who view "The Ripper Strikes" back as the death of canibus. i have had many converstations about this very topic. also no one ever mentions that canibus doesnt write his own lyrics. he fell off hard after ll responded. not to mention eminem has asked canibus to do a freestyle contest on BET's 106 and park...he declined.

also as good as necro is, he couldnt battle eminem, i seriously dont think anyone could except maybe Royce da 5' 9". he took a bite out of eminem and d12. but necro is one great MC.

You have to look at "The Ripper Strikes Back" as the end to the LL vs Cannibus battle. Because Cannibus replied with a really horrible rhyme with Wyclef. The only reason there was a battle was because of Mike Tyson on "2nd Round Knockout" He made that whole song.
