Just another example of how Saddam and his cronies are tied into the world of Terrorism. I still can't understand how some people would argue the point that Iraq had been acting on its own all this time.

This also points out to me that the war on International Terrorism is far, far from over. We have only touched on the tip of the iceberg as far as defeating these vermin are concerned.

My heart and soul ache and cry when I think of the future my children and the children of others have to face in this world of ours!!!

The foreign fighters provide a "direct tie between Saddam Hussein and terrorist organizations", a Pentagon spokeswoman said last night.
I think that this article gives a scewed picture of it as opposed to some other articles that I've read (and a few that I've posted here). they aren't so much being "imported" as they are coming of their own volition to fight "jihad." They perceived that they had a common enemy in our army, so they came to Iraq to fight.

the scary thing is that they are still there. this is going to make the rebuilding process Hell. I was never truly worried about the "war" part. It's the rebuilding part that has me nervous.

Hippie.
Does it really matter if they were invited or came of their own free will? They chose the side of Saddam to fight us!! They are still terrorists who must be stopped by any means necessary!! By their mere support of the Saddam regime, they demonstrate to me that they ARE allied with Saddam and that he is tied in with them!!! I don't really care what a man's motivation is when he tries to kill me-all I know is that he must be stopped from killing me!!

If a country waged a war against the United States based on their perception that the US was responsible for terrorism against the colored people of the world, and KKK members raised arms against the invaders, would that prove that the US government was indeed responsible for genocide against all non-whites?

This just proves that middle eastern countries harbor a very real resentment and fear of the United States. This war has done nothing to better that situation.

I'm scared of terrorism as well. This war is just beginning. I would have preferred that we started the process of combatting terrorism through defense measures at home and a coordinated international effort to seek out terrorists and extremists individually.

I get bothered when something gets in my eye. To fix this problem preemptively, would I gouge out my eyeballs?

It does when the discussion topic is "terrorist ties." Saddam wasn't exactly a big friend of his neighbors either. It wasn't the "enemy of my friend is my enemy" scenario, it was the "enemy of my enemy is my enemy."

His connections to Palestinian terrorists has long been proven. But this sounds like a guy backed into the corner and grasping at whatever he had left and calling out to anyone that would listen. Hell, I expected him to use his WMD's under that mentality. I'm just waiting for that big, bad Al-Queda linkage.

The one that spurred Mayor Bloomberg to say that we should melt down that statue of Saddam and use it in building the new WTC?

The reason I dont like ^that idea (and I heard it attributed to Pataki, and about the memorial not the actual building), is because that statue represents evil and I dont think anything evil should be part of the memorial. Onward...I would have preferred that we started the process of combatting terrorism through defense measures at home
If the police issued an advisory that a gang of murdering rapist burglars were around, and you saw them in your back yard pointing at your house, would you A)call adt to have a home security system installed, or B)Go out and confront the fuckers?

I think these would make very nice terrorist ties.

Oh you might be right maybe it was Pataki - either way he said "I have a suggestion - let's melt it down and put it in one of the girders!"

At the very very very least it ought to belong to the Iraqis. I kind of don't get why Saddam Hussein had anything to do with the WTC.

HOT.

I'd like to think my new tag is the coolest Replacements reference EVER, but instead I'm realistic enough to realize it's just indicative of me being a really awful human being.

If they were in my backyard, attempting to enter my home, I would be justified in shooting them if I owned a licensed gun.

If they were a couple of miles down, I couldn't run out of my house, gun in hand and hunt them down to keep them from even getting near my house.

That would make me a mad woman.

Let the fanatics come from all over the Middle East bearing Ak-47's. The bastards can't shoot straight anyway. With the Predator drones patrolling the skies, let those convoys of terrorists come rolling into Iraq and the A-10's will cut them to ribbons.

I used to have a nice paisley terrorist tie, but I got bloodstains on it that would not wash out.
