So I'm eating Chinese food last friday, I always use chopsticks when I do, but I wondered, how did they get their name?

It's not like they chop anything. What's up with that???

I got this one.
The ancient chinese would cut down large trees and use a primitive cutting tool called a "chainsaw" to make two thin sticks that stayed connected at the top until the user seperated them by pulling apart, the rest of the tree would go to waste.

chopsticks are etymologically unrelated to chop suey. Chop suey comes from Cantonese words meaning like "left overs", because that's what chines cooks used when they made up the dish for the American palate.
