I'd like to put together a fish and chips celebration in the future. I could really go for some kick ass fish and chips. I figure that someone in long island would know.


You'd think, wouldn't you? I have yet to find a really good fish and chips and chowder place like you do in New England. The best I've had on LI is at Legal Seafoods (and that is a MA chain so of course it's good). Basically, my assessment is that seafood on the north shore - even in places that LOOK like they ought to have good clamshacks - SUCKS. I haven't sampled the South Shore enough to make a determination about it, however. I recall having good chowder back in the day at a bar in Freeport, but I haven't been back there in at least 15 years. And maybe Montauk...

Try to be there and meet us by then. We'll go in and get a table between 5-5:30, depending on how many people show up by then. Now, based on how the last one wen't down, I can't guaruntee we'll all get a table together, but I'll tell them we're expecting more people, so if you know us, look for us, Nellie and I will try to get any stragglers together with the group, but if you come late, we can't guarantee anything.

But we can always reorganize afterward and hit a bar or two...

ok. well..... uh. where do i start?.... lets make this simple...

When driving from Hoboken to Garwood....
1. Make sure you have the cell number of the poor soul who is following you.
2. Drive slowly out of the toll booth and ... even if there is noplace to pull over... pull over anyway and wait until that person signals you... especially when you are clearly TERRIBLE at distinguishing which is your friends car and which is some random car.
3. Apologize PROFUSELY for losing him on the parkway and blame the fickle NJ roadway for it entirely...
4. Vow to buy the aforementioned "lost soul" dinner at the Porter House to make up for it.

Oh....and my AIM is still enabled on your cell, Chris. AND I am SO F-ing sorry.....

Sorry I missed it. By the time me and my bro-in-law were able to get someone to watch the kids it was 8 o'clock. And we couldn't see Matrix that night because there were 4 shows sold out. I ended up eating at Romano's Macaroni Grille instead and it sucked. But we ended the night at Stilettos so it ended up the greatest night ever!
