On one hand I feel like what took them so long? Has any other wrestler pushed the envelope more in the last year than him? He was always late and he was very flakey. On the other hand, why start what looked to be a pretty big angle with hin and Trish Stratus? Oh well.

-- WWE.com today announced that Jeff Hardy has been released. The official announcement is available on the newsboard in the post below.

This doesn't come as a major shock to most people, as Hardy has been tardy with his attendance at house shows, and was only working a 2 week house show month at the time WWE released him.

Hardy had been off TV due to `personal matters' this past week, and has now been freed from his wrestling commitments. I wouldn't expect to see him now work on the independent scene.

It is crazy that they would let him go in the middle of the trish angle......but i don't think they would've done anything with it anyway. And I think Michael Hayes was the only person to say that he thought he was doin drugs....i'm pretty sure jeff just finally gave up on wrestling because he wants to play music and write poetry or some crap.......

He'll be back in a year at most though

i enjoy Matt a ton more than Jeff. if Jeff isn't getting tossed through a table or doing some kind of jump from 15-20 feet he was a real bore...which was the case for most of his non PPV matches. Matt has an actual personality and can wrestle to back it up. he is actually one of my favorites now.

if Jeff is having all of these personal problems i hope he gets his life straightened out, but i could care less if i see him again or not....just don't take Matt with him.

Jeff Hardy should have been fired. He doesn't care about the business anymore, his body is a wreck, and his sloppy work was going to wind up seriously injuring someone - or himself.

You know, I'm sorry, but I get a little pissed off when I hear people take the attitude that Ron & Fez took tonight. Jeff Hardy DOES NOT have what it takes to become ANYTHING in the wrestling business. He's a fucking statistic. He's washed up. Let him go off and write poetry or do whatever the fuck he likes to do OTHER than wrestling, because there are only about a thousand guys on the indy scene now who are BETTER than him in every way possible who deserve his spot far more than he does.

Matt Hardy is the only one in that family who has the talent. I don't know where it got beaten into the wrestling audience's head that a willingness to perform high spots or take sick bumps equals being a good wrestler, but it's NOT true. I'm glad Jeff's gone, and I sincerely hope he doesn't come back.
