View Full Version : An Interesting Theory: Triple H's Revenge?

The Game has the reputation of ruthlessly exerting his influence; holding back fellow wrestlers who may threaten his status in the
company.

I think this could be a still bitter Triple H that "took the heat" for that infamous KLIQ group hug in MSG. At the time he was a just rising star and wasn't involved with Stephanie Mcmahon.

The captain of my soul."

I still don't know what that infamous story is about the group hug at MSG. Can someone explain it? I feel so ignorant for asking it, but it would just make me feel a lot better if I knew what people were talking about when they mentioned that.

And by the way, it's Kilq, not Clique.

And by the way, it's Kilq, not Clique.

The ''Kliq'' was Shawn's cute little name for his fans during his championship years. The Clique (so named, I believe, by a disgusted Shane Douglas) were Michaels, Helmsley, Hall, Nash, and Sean Waltman.

As to the hug, long story short, Michaels, Nash, Hall, & Helmsley joined together in the middle of the ring on Hall & Nash's last night in the WWF for a group hug. This was a major no-no, as Michaels & Hall were ''babyfaces'' and Helmsley & Nash were ''heels,'' and their real-life friendship was unknown by most casual fans. McMahon was irate, but couldn't punish Hall & Nash, and Michaels, as champion, was untouchable. Thus Helmsley got the brunt of the heat for the act. He was supposed to win that year's King of the Ring; the honor, instead, went to Steve Austin, and with the words ''Austin 3:16,'' the rest is history.

The story is that at the end of the last house show that Nash and Hall did for WWF before they left for WCW, Shawn Michaels and HHH called Nash and Hall out for a curtain call and they brought them to the ring and in front of the whole audience at MSG, they said good bye to them and talked about them going to WCW. Vince didn't like this, but he couldn't punish Shawn because he was the champ and was a huge superstar, so Vince punished HHH to an extreme degree, totally pulling him off TV for a couple of months and making him job to Aldo Montoya and such. Eventually HHH climbed back up the ranks, did the DX thing etc.

If I remember correctly, it was also an MSG house show, back when that meant something, and that is what really sent Vinny Mac through the roof.

What a bunch of pompous fucks to think they meant anything to the WWF then or now. Business was at an all time low, sure Diesel was champion, but after a hot start, Razor Ramon was getting his ass handed to him by Sycho Sid and Vader. Good God, it's not exactly Piper and the Hulkster honoring each other at Wrestlemania, it's 4 asswhacks who all share the distinction of main eventing in the WWF valleys, then and now. Fuck all these jabroni's
